We're looking for a leader who can fluently travel between the worlds of spreadsheets, operations, sales, and marketing - seamlessly processing challenges and stringing solutions across points.
Yield brings analyses and insights to people at all levels of the Paramount organization, but its core responsibilities revolve around how inventory is measured, packaged, and priced. The Yield team helps the sales team shape individual proposals and keeps track of how those proposals collectively consume inventory. Every month this translates into an inventory puzzle with billions of individual pieces, and by guiding how these pieces are assembled, the Yield team contributes to the overall revenue growth.
To the applicant, the role offers the following: The Yield Director works with a diverse group within the company and has the opportunity to work on projects that cross departments and functions. Yield is relied on as subject matter experts, and contribute to projects with significant visibility.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Oversight of sales proposals by providing input on product mix, inventory availability, and pricing.
- Present ad hoc reporting to senior management. This involves writing SQL queries for large data sets to identify business critical KPIs and building reports and dashboards directly from the data warehouse.
- Guide product strategy and roll out by working with multiple teams Monitor and optimize active campaigns.
- Streamline business processes to mitigate problems that lead to revenue losses.
- Stay informed of marketplace trends (streaming, DTC, measurement, PMP) and apply learnings to strategy for emerging lines of business such as Paramount +.
- Leadership of Yield Function - develop Yield Objectives and strategy
- Identify and lead projects that benefit Paramount such as
- Streamline business processes to mitigate problems that lead to revenue losses.
- Uncover new / more efficient means of driving revenue
- Bring a fresh perspective to departmental daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting, helping to position analysis in a creative and concise manner
- Develop a deep understanding of yield management and revenue drivers of the ad sales business
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years related work experience within a Sales or Media Organization
- Experience with a digital ad server such as GAM or Freewheel
Additional Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in a quantitative/ problem solving field (or equivalent training and experience)
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets & PowerPoint/Google Slides skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- SQL experience
- Experience with order management software such as Operative and/or SalesForce
- People Management Skills
- Comfortable communicating across all levels of the organization; able to effectively tell stories with data and present findings to a non-technical audience
- Relentless in improving the status quo; seeks to elevate the performance of the group and partner teams
- Experience with data segments and targeting specific audiences.
- Thorough understanding of both established and emerging media currency
- Analytics experience (SQL, Tableau, Google Data Studio, etc), with the ability to use data to tell a story and generate useful insights
- Ability to work cross-functionally across a large and complex organization with demonstrated success collaborating to tackle problems

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $110,400.00 - 138,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
