InUnity Alliance
The coming together of New York's premier mental health, alcohol and substance use provider associations in 2024 to form InUnity Alliance has been described as seismic. InUnity Alliance is forming a Policy Center intended to play a figural and critical role making equally seismic advances in public policy for behavioral health in New York. InUnity Alliance represents 250 provider organizations across the vast breadth of New York State.
The Position:
The inaugural Director, will have the opportunity to integrate and better articulate consumer and provider needs, cutting edge application of research and outcome achievement all towards driving impact for those served by InUnity Alliance members and strengthening the system of care. New York is experiencing a generational crisis in opioid related deaths, alcohol use disorder and fragmented mental health services at a time when the provider system is exceptionally committed and skilled, but has been made fragile by outdated policies, programs and regulations.
Key Areas of Leadership Will Include:
- Modernization of the "operating system" for behavioral health care in New York
- Making whole person - integration of care the norm.
- Achieving Health Equity
- Addressing access to safe and affordable housing
- Advance policies to reduce the over representation of people with behavioral health issues in the criminal justice system.
Position Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement The Policy and advocacy strategy for InUnity Alliance.
- Become an influencer with New York City and New York State Governments in the design, consideration and advancement of impactful policies and budgets.
- Continually shape the evolution of the Policy Center, including its committee structure and overarching strategy.
- Oversee and deploy staff
- Write and provide testimony
- Meet with elected officials and other stakeholders as needed on behalf of InUnity.
- Collaborate, research and author documents, presentations and media pieces to advance InUnity Alliance's policies goals.
- Coordinate with InUnity Alliance's resources for public relations, lobbying and organizational committees.
- Collaborate with other advocacy organizations in New York
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Leadership experience in the nonprofit sector
· Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion work
· Writing expertise
· Self-starter
· Ability to lead projects
· Speaking and presentation skills
· Master’s Degree
Location: Remote within NYS, with access to offices in Albany and New York City
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
