Director Technical Design, Intimates
Leadership position responsible for leading the Technical Design function in New York to support the VS and/or Pink design teams in the development of product fit, construction and performance, from concept through Design Intent to final garment approval.
Work in collaboration with the AVP Global Technical Design to drive the overall strategy of the Technical Design Team including the conceptual technical development for all Intimate product categories for the Brand. To be the Technical Design lead in the USA, trusted advisor and strategic thought partner for Design, Merchant and Production & Sourcing partners, empowered for critical decision making.

Your Impact
- Provide support to Regional Technical Design during all development and pre-production activities.
- Support Technical Services in training and calibration for all regional partners and vendors.
- Maintain Brand standards in the form of blueprints in partnership with the Design and Merchant functions.
- Ensure Brand integrity through calibration of VS Standards.
- Communicate the voice of the customer, business strategy and tactical changes in product or process for improved global team awareness and speed of response.
- Lead the Technical Design teams responsible for all VS and/or Pink Intimate categories to achieve business objectives and growth plans.
- Develop the NY Technical Design team to provide best in class technical talent with bench strength at every level.
- Be the strategic thought partner and trusted advisor for Design, Merchants and Production & Sourcing partners.
- Provide leadership for the development process, ensuring fit, comfort and performance standards are world class offering the customer a consistent and exceptional wearing experience across all product categories.
- Collaborate with cross functional partners to ensure product development deadlines are achieved and review of process and tools continue to unlock speed and flexibility.
- Partner with Quality Assurance/Control leaders to anticipate and resolve quality issues.
- Constantly review Technical Design process and fundamentals to improve efficiency, accuracy and best practice.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align on product performance standards as it pertains to Brand integrity.
- Ensure that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications.
- Act as a positive, supportive partner, consistently demonstrating our shared values and high standards.
Minimum Salary : $135,000.00
Maximum Salary : $194,250.00
VS&Co provides an estimated range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual compensation will be determined by a number of relevant factors, including but not limited to your specific skills, experience, & geographic location.
Qualifications- Technical education in garment fit and construction to degree level or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, specifications, fit and quality control.
- Understanding of patternmaking; practical patternmaking experience preferred
- Extensive experience in garment fitting and construction knowledge, including bra pad & wire development.
- Understanding of digital pattern capabilities
- Strong leadership and management skills; proven ability to train, develop and mentor talent.
- Ability to lead in a cross functional team environment.
- Minimum of 10 years of technical/managerial experience, gained while working within the intimate apparel industry.
- Experience using a product development technical specification program.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Domestic/International factory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Exposure to Adobe Illustrator or similar computer-aided sketching program
- Exposure to 3D Design programs (Clo3D, Browzwear) preferred.
