Your New Role
A member of the Warner Bros. Discovery Corporate Social Responsibility team, this position plays a pivotal role managing and supporting the company's ESG and sustainability strategy as well as mandatory and voluntary non-financial Reporting and disclosures. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability and partnering with key internal stakeholders around the world-including legal, investor relations, finance, people and culture, facilities/real estate, production, procurement/sourcing, consumer products, and travel-this position also directs, advises on, develops, executes and/or oversees the operational standards, processes, guidelines, programs and initiatives, and data management that support ESG and climate readiness, environmental sustainability priorities, and progress toward decarbonization.
Your Role Accountabilities
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of WBD's ESG strategy and mandatory and voluntary ESG reporting in line with regulations and frameworks, including CSRD, GRI, CDP, SASB, TCFD and pending SEC regulations. Working closely with WBD's legal teams, ensures alignment with current and impending regulatory requirements globally and in local markets. Leads plans for execution of ESG reporting readiness. Collaborates with key internal partners to track and monitor progress toward public ESG/sustainability goals and commitments. Identifies emerging regulations that impact ESG reporting disclosures and compliance. Works and/or liaises with consultants as applicable.
  • Liaises with key ESG external ratings agencies-including MSCI, ISS, S&P, Sustainalytics-and oversees company submissions. Tracks progress and trends. Manages annual benchmarking.
  • Collaborating closely with WBD's internal stakeholders (Legal, Investor Relations, People and Culture, Government Affairs), manages and/or coordinates other ESG activities, including annual ESG reports, materiality assessments, and gap analyses. Oversees production of ESG and sustainability materials for Board and other stakeholder groups. Manages WBD ESG website. Works with and/or manages consultants as applicable.
  • Manages the company's greenhouse gas emissions calculations and reporting, including CDP. Responsible for Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventory and data collection, often working with external consultants as necessary. Partners with WBD groups--such as global real estate, studio operations, the company's various production businesses (scripted and unscripted content, news, sports, games, and more), travel, consumer products, and procurement--to ensure receipt of timely and accurate inventory lists and data sets for calculations. Reviews and analyzes data. Routinely conducts gap assessments, and addresses opportunities to increase reporting boundaries. Works with internal audit, legal and other corporate groups to ensure appropriate processes and controls. Manages climate gap and risk assessments as needed.
  • Supports environmental sustainability strategy development and target-setting for the company. Works closely with internal business partners around the world-including real estate, studio operations, production groups, procurement/sourcing, consumer products, and travel-to co-develop and/or advise upon attendant decarbonization plans specific to each line of business as well as harmonize policies, initiatives and approaches where applicable. Identifies baselines, associated targets, and KPIs.
  • Serves as a partner to and thought leader on environmental sustainability industry issues. Works with WBD Government Affairs to strategically address local government sustainability initiatives with implications to production (e.g., tax incentives) and operations. Serves as a representative in and/or liaison to industry sustainability groups, such as the Sustainable Production Alliance, to accelerate and drive solutions that represent and benefit WBD climate targets and the industry at large.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and as priorities change.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 8-10 years' work experience in sustainability, ESG or corporate social responsibility, at a large, global company, preferably in media and entertainment
  • CSR and/or sustainability experience, including corporate-level Reporting and greenhouse gas accounting
  • Media and entertainment production experience or knowledge strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA, JD or graduate degree in sustainability, business, or management a plus
  • Must be a skilled strategist, adept in developing and executing on strategic plans and goals
  • Results-driven; demonstrated ability to set and meet measurable goals, targets and KPIs
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to direct and delegate work
  • Proven track record building and maintaining internal and external relationships across multiple functions and levels
  • Exceptional data collection, management, analysis, Reporting and visualization skills required.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of global ESG and sustainability frameworks and regulations-including CSRD
  • Proven knowledge and Engagement with environmental sustainability frameworks and reporting entities, including Science-based Targets, GRI, CDP, Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • Familiarity with ESG Reporting and ranking entities, including MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, Refinitiv
  • Ability to understand and distill ESG regulatory and climate frameworks and communicate to various audiences
  • Knowledge of the entertainment industry and production landscape preferred
  • Experience managing staff
  • Experience working with external advisors and consultants
  • Effective and professional interpersonal skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and schedule work effectively
  • Must be highly analytical, data driven and capable of managing large data sets
  • Must have exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and a confident public speaker
  • Must be detail oriented and goal-driven
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under time constraints
  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Must be flexible and able to adjust to shifting priorities
  • Must have ability to navigate corporate, production, nonprofit, and government landscapes

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $126,350.00 - $234,650.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
