Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent testing and review of valuation and risk models for mortgages, MBS and securitized products.
• Develop alternative benchmark models used for accessing and benchmarking champion models used by the Front-Line Units.
• Critically review and analyze model documentation, development data, estimation process and testing results.
• Conduct model governance activities, annual model review and ongoing monitoring review as routine model risk management.
• Write technical reports for distribution and presentation to model developers, senior management, audit and banking regulators.
• Apply statistical methods and programming to extract, transform and analyze large and complex data.
• Perform quantitative analysis by using SAS or R to apply statistical, econometric, and mathematical models to the financial data.
• Utilize statistical models such as linear regression, logistic regression or time series model to estimate the relationship between outcome variable and risk factors, make predictions and forecast.
• Perform end to end model development activities, including designing theoretical framework, identifying key assumptions, performing variable selection and diagnostic testing, estimating parameters and performance testing.
• Develop and implement mortgage prepayment, default, and loss models with mortgage loan or pool data using SAS or R.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Master's degree or equivalent in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related; and
• 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related quantitative occupation.
• Must include 5 years of experience in each of the following:
• Applying statistical methods and programming to extract, transform and analyze large and complex data;
• Performing quantitative analysis by using SAS or R to apply statistical, econometric, and mathematical models to the financial data;
• Utilizing statistical models such as linear regression, logistic regression or time series model to estimate the relationship between outcome variable and risk factors, make predictions and forecast;
• Performing end to end model development activities, including designing theoretical framework, identifying key assumptions, performing variable selection and diagnostic testing, estimating parameters and performance testing; and,
• Developing and implementing mortgage prepayment, default, and loss models with mortgage loan or pool data using SAS or R.
