As we continue to expand our product portfolio, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Software Development to lead strategic Software Development projects.
Position Overview: The Director of Software Development will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our security screening solutions and our brand recognition for the future. This role will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in Software Development. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive innovation, optimize development processes, and ensure the seamless integration of software components with our hardware solutions.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:

• Develop and execute the Software Development strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
• Provide visionary leadership to the Software Development team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Team Management:

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers, ensuring the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving.

Product Development:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, product management, and quality assurance, to ensure successful integration of software with security screening equipment.
• Drive the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.

Technology Roadmap:

• Define and implement the technology roadmap for Software Development, keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance the Software Development process.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure the Software Development process adheres to industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and oversee rigorous testing and quality assurance processes to deliver robust and secure software solutions.

Project Management:

• Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and budget management for Software Development projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful and timely delivery of software components.

• Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct
• It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
• Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (at least 10 years) in Software Development, with a focus on leading and managing software engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of security protocols, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with embedded systems and hardware-software integration is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
