Compensation:
Stipend of $13,200 + 3months of additional salary during the summer months. Stipend amount may vary based on
full time faculty count at the beginning of the academic year.
Position Summary:
The Director serves as the primaryacademic and administrative officer of the School of Special Education,reporting to the Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. TheDirector will provide a forward-looking vision and proactive leadership in theareas of accountability, transparency, and collaboration as well as principledadministrative guidance and advocacy for shared governance and the mission ofthe School, College, and University. The Director is responsible to proactivelymove the School forward towards a more socially just, equitable, and diverseenvironment, which includes curriculum, hiring, and programmaticdecisions.
Job Duties:
The Director is responsible forworkload/scheduling, curriculum, and student concerns. The Director advocatesfor students, faculty, and staff to the rest of the University and communicatesUniversity goals and concerns positively to the School. The Director sets a tone and creates apositive environment to encourage collaboration, creative engagement, andproductive work in the School. The Director has managerial and leadershipresponsibilities for the School's operation, including development andimplementation of goals and objectives, faculty and staff review anddevelopment, supervision, strategic and programmatic oversight.
Minimum Qualifications:
Rank of tenured associate or fullprofessor in the School of Special Education.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential.

This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
