JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the President as a member of the business unit leadership team, this position is passionate about strategic business development and customer account management in the building products industry. The incumbent will be leading the Business Development team to identify, evaluate and negotiate new product sales opportunities to generate revenue growth, while sustaining current customer accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying and developing strategic growth models and new product development strategies to achieve company goals and objectives
- Identifying and negotiating strategic customer contracts
- Prioritizing and evaluating investments across new initiatives
- Customer relationship management of current customers and prospective new customers
- Find opportunities to increase value in customer accounts
- Lead team on direction of research and of potential projects and sales leads
- Define strategy and approach for development of major opportunities
- Review and approve sales solutions through quotations, bids, and proposals
- Lead high level technical product presentations and demonstrations
- Work closely with the technical engineering team for detailed product development
- Partnering with engineering to conduct technical evaluations and teardowns to identify customer opportunities for product improvements
- Provide direct leadership to technical Sales and indirect leadership to operations and engineering teams to establish new business customer proposals
- Ensure oversight of general marketing and promotional resources; including web-site and social media channels
- Participate at trade shows, conferences and local professional associations events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field, preferably technical in nature
- Minimum 7 years’ previous experience selling custom engineered products to OEM’s
- History in optimally selling engineered capabilities- not price
- Proven experience managing others
- Demonstrated strategy planning and influence in previous roles
- Demonstrated presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable in analyzing sales reports, developing and managing department critical metrics
- Experience developing costs; applying cost-build-up model
- Ability to approach business problems using structured problem solving tools
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Ability to flex communication styles to effectively engage with various people; including hourly manufacturing employees, engineers, customers, and top level executives
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree desirable
- Experience working in Extruded Plastics and/or Injection Molding highly preferred
- Proficient with engineering software tools (MS Project & SolidWorks)
