The Director of the Remote Division is part of the leadership team at Delta Group and is responsible for the overall success of the Remote Division in collaboration with the Vice President of Operations (VPO) and Chief Operations Officer (COO), reporting to the VPO. High performance in operational planning, execution, and overall management and partnership is a requirement for this role. The Director is expected to achieve Department goals provided by the Executive Leadership Team including operational metrics and financial objectives while conducting oneself consistent with core values of the company: Diligence, Empathy, Leadership, Thoughtfulness, and Accountability.


This role requires planning, strategizing, and coordinating all aspects of the remote surveillance department, inclusive of collaborative efforts with supporting departments and teams within the organization.


Essential Skills:

  • Leadership
    • This position requires strong leadership abilities. The Director is expected to lead their team providing support and coaching while maintaining accountability in order to successfully achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Operations Management
    • This position requires extensive knowledge of all operational aspects of the remote department, including the monitoring of all operations, presentation and implementation of solutions, and cost reduction.
  • Communication
    • This position requires strong communication. The Director must be able to clearly articulate and communicate ideas and recommendations in addition to providing well-defined information and feedback to their team. Communication should always be professional and productive, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Strategic Thinking
    • This position requires strategic thinking which includes the ability to evaluate a situation in a comprehensive manner with consideration of all aspects. The Director should identify areas of improvement and develop plans for growth to present to the VPO.
  • Project Management
    • This position requires strong project management skills. The Director is responsible for managing and leading operations-related projects within the Remote Department.


The Director must perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed in this job description at a high level and meet performance measures set by the company.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the remote surveillance department’s operational tasks and projects, to include both internal and field operations. Tasks may be delegated as needed with the Director responsible for ultimate accountability.
  • Work with the VPO and COO to build and implement bonus performance metrics.
  • Maintain oversight of Bonus Metrics and provide quarterly status performance reports to the VPO.
  • Quarterly check-ins with direct reports reviewing their performance and team’s performance in relation to the assigned metrics. Summaries of each check-in should be provided to the VPO.
  • Strategic planning and execution to increase profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the regional surveillance operations in collaboration with the VPO and COO.
  • Monitor and maintain oversite of monthly revenue billing goals for the remote surveillance team. Report concerns to VPO proactively.
  • Monitor and analyze the monthly profitability results and make adjustments strategically as needed. Report concerns to VPO proactively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives to include achieving the company’s overall sales goal.
  • Manage issues and/or potential issues. Escalate to VPO proactively to remedy immediate concerns when necessary.
  • Establish operations-related policies and standards to ensure effective and consistent execution.
  • Monitor the performance of team members to identify productivity issues to include behavioral issues and provide constructive and timely performance feedback and evaluations. Performance feedback should be continual.
  • Ensure the Performance Evaluation process is being utilized properly and that performance standards are maintained and reported.
  • Analyze and review the organizational structure and suggest adjustments in relation to growth and productivity to the VPO.
  • Identify cost estimates, staffing requirements, and other details for projects and propose to VPO and COO.
  • Meet and communicate regularly with department leadership on any and all operational issues. Updates should be provided to VPO accordingly.
  • Biweekly 1/1 calls with VPO. The Director should provide an agenda 24 hours prior to the meeting and send a summary of the call by the following business day.
  • Involvement in disciplinary action, performance improvement plans, and terminations in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager if needed.
  • Continually process improvement analysis. Present suggestions to VPO for consideration.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor team on an ongoing basis. Plan for succession throughout scope of responsibilities in addition to career development programs.
  • Assist in monitoring operating budgets for regional surveillance in all aspects of conducting daily business, including but not limited to, the review of daily operating expenses within the approved budget.
  • Perform ROIs on operational changes that may have an impact on financial results. Data and results should be provided to the VPO.
  • Consistently and effectively lead direct reports providing ongoing and open communication, and ensure direct reports are effectively leading their teams. The Director should have regular check-ins with direct reports.
  • Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided.
  • Maintain flexibility to adapt priorities based on changing business needs.
  • Keep the VPO, informed of all operational updates, challenges, etc. It is the responsibility of the Director to keep the VPO informed and updated.
  • Work in partnership with Human Resources and VPO to build training/first week strategy and agenda for every role within the regional surveillance department.
  • Be an expert in all aspects of the remote surveillance department including all processes, procedures, roles, and responsibilities with a goal of continuous growth and improvement.
  • Provide industry expertise and suggestions that enhance the overall success of the company.
  • Lead with a collaborative approach across both sales and ops including direct reports, peers, other departmental staff, leadership, and the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for ensuring assigned areas of responsibility are in compliance with all accreditation standards relevant to the regional surveillance division.
  • Respond and resolve concerns regarding any company policies and procedures and any observed practices in violation of policy in a timely manner to include internal and external (clients) communication. Consult with Human Resources when necessary.
  • Review TAT and video obtained % reports and monitor/address concerns as warranted. VPO should be made aware of any concerning fluctuations.
