The 281-bed specialty medical center focuses on general acute medical/surgical care as well as a medical base to advanced services for cancer, orthopedics, spine, and neurology, and neurosurgery.
Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center
The 242-bed specialty medical center focuses on women's and children's specialty services and includes medical intensive care units for cardiac and neurological patients.
The Director of Rehabilition is responsible for the overall management and operational support for rehabilitation services. Ensures the provision of high- quality and cost-effective care, regulatory compliance, coordination of services across departments and effective relationships within the facility, as well as among physicians, patients and the community. Oversees the development and marketing of current and new business lines for Rehabilitation Services. Effectively manages the department budgets, operations, staffing resource management, environment of work, continuous quality improvement, policy and procedure implementation, and long-range planning.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
OPERATIONS:
Manages the business through subordinates (usually department managers) and employees. Establishes performance goals, allocates resources and assesses policies for the departments assuring optimal performance and patient satisfaction.
Ensures the appropriate resources exist to provide services. Identifies and implements cost saving initiatives, establishes and monitors productivity standards, utilizes benchmarks for services and operations.
Meets all legal, regulatory, accreditation standards and requirements. Actively works in support of regulatory compliance assuring that the facility maintains full accreditation and compliance with state and federal regulations. Understands specific responsibilities for regulatory compliance in the home department and ensures daily requirements for compliance are met.
Approves purchases, personnel requisitions, and capital equipment requests. Authorizes all other operating costs. Reviews justifications for purchases outside department budgets.
Maintains overall responsibility for departmental quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review programs.
Develops strong working relationships and communication at all levels across the organization to facilitate optimal operations and program cohesiveness.
Educates and informs facility, physicians and community about rehabilitation services and programs.
STRATEGY/PLANNING:
Analyzes and recommends changes for improvement in program content and design. Ensures Rehabilitation Services procedures and systems are functioning at optimal levels and evaluates processes regularly for continuous improvement. This includes strategic planning and service prioritization based upon an analysis of financial, regulatory and business opportunities.
Leads departmental goal setting process and provides roadmap for accomplishing goals. Monitors progress, developing action plans to address issues and challenges.
Communicates affiliate, operating unit and system goals to staff, helping staff understand impact on patients, operations and resources.
Monitors operational trends and recurrent issues, ensuring managers implement appropriate actions to address issues.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
Establishes overall operating and capital budget with input from management team, ensuring financial targets are achieved and variances are addressed timely.
Approves department operating budgets, and capital requests.
Works with department managers to ensure achievement of financial targets via effective utilization of personnel, resources and supplies.
Monitors department productivity, ensuring operational challenges are addressed timely.
Reviews financial reports and develops and implements corrective action plans to address unfavorable variances.
Reviews and approves employee expense reimbursements, and billing statements from vendors according to established protocol.

Provides and fosters an inclusive work environment that encourages staff engagement and collaboration, establishing a culture of teamwork.
Manages assigned staff, makes hiring and termination decisions, and reviews and approves timekeeping records.

Evaluates staff performance and determines/approves merit increase. Provides constructive feedback, coaching and counseling. Implements disciplinary actions and/or performance improvement plans to achieve desired performance. Responds timely to alleged violations of policies, procedures, regulations and standards of conduct by evaluating or initiating investigative procedures. May consult with Human Resources or Compliance to determine appropriate course of action.
Ensures staff maintains current and appropriate professional credentials.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Extensive knowledge of daily multidisciplinary rehabilitation therapy service industry and operations for applicable patient care clinical environments (inpatient hospital, outpatient, acute rehab unit, sub-acute, acute rehab).
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards including but not limited to Title 22, The Joint Commission, Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA), Content Management System (CMS), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Medi-Cal, Worker’s Compensation, Alta Regional, Professional Licensure/Practice Act and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding for multidisciplinary therapy services in varied patient care settings.
Knowledge of effective communication methods, problem solving/conflict resolution, coaching-counseling, and staff development techniques.
Verbal and written communication skills, ability to coordinate diverse disciplines, organizational and planning skills.
Computer skills and proficiency required creating documents, spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting as well as other hospital required applications.
Ability to mentor, teach, role model highly effective and efficient clinical practices.

Pay Range is $73.24 to $117.19 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
