This job contributes to Starbucks success by acting as an advocate for Siren Retail by strategically leading the planning, development and implementation of products, systems, and programs. This partner delivers the Starbucks Siren experience that enhances and grows the value and appreciation of the brand. Provides consulting leadership enterprise-wide to identify and optimize performance. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, missions, and values.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Leadership
- Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together.
- Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
- Supports the implementation of Company programs, procedures, methods, and practices to promote Starbucks key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.
Planning and Execution
- Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results.
- Approves operational planning and execution for promotional programs and initiatives.
- Approves rollout strategies for all new products, programs and systems.
- Develops specific goals and timelines for the implementation team consistent with the Company's business strategies.
- Establishes objectives, scope and timelines for department projects.
- Estimates resource requirements as part of the annual planning and budgeting process and prepares quarterly forecast updates.
- Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
- Prepares long-term plans for improving efficiency and effectiveness of planning and implementation for the business channels products, programs and services while maintaining a high-level of customer support for relevant customers (internal or field partners, licensees, distributors and/or operator customers).
- Prepares, communicates, and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
- May lead internal operations communications.
Business Requirements
- Consults directly with cross-functional leadership on implementation work that impacts Retail North America.
- Coordinates implementation assignments so each department at the Starbucks Support Center has a representative from the department to provide direction on programs.
- Meets regularly with key stakeholders to provide information, data and recommendations to support the decision- making process.
- Facilitates the prioritization process and monitors new activities to ensure proper allocation of resources in support of overall business objectives.
- Meets regularly with key stakeholders, including Support Center and field leadership, to exchange information, data and recommendations to support implementation, identify and resolve distinct ecosystem challenges and facilitate decision-making and decision-making processes.
Partner Development & Team Building
- Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:
- Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results.
- Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
- Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
- Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions
- Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members to achieve partner, business and customer results.

- Internal communications management 5 years
- Project management 5 years
- Strategic planning 5 years
- Regional field director or equivalent 2 years
- Progressive experience managing varied field initiatives or implementation projects
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expected to travel at minimum 25% of the time to Siren Retail markets (approx. 1 week/month)
