Job Summary
The Director of Training Programs role leads, coaches, and develops a group of Training program managers and learning delivery specialists across Altice and the Optimum brand. This role is responsible for ensuring that the training needs of the business are adequately assessed and addressed, creating and implementing Training Programs using adult learning principles and a variety of learning techniques. This role is responsible for ensuring the Training Program Managers are effectively working with stakeholders and instructional designers to form the content within the learning journeys, training and evaluating learning delivery specialists to implement the Training Programs, and continuously evaluating and improving the Training Programs to achieve high levels of efficiency and effectiveness. The Director of Training Programs will also continuously assess the needs of the business to create additional Training Programs and augment existing Training Programs. The Director of Training Programs will need to stay closely connected with the business and the roles/skills within each organization, anticipate changing demands and needs from the business, and manage relationships with stakeholders to build and maintain credibility. This role reports to the VP of Training.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Training Program Managers focused on high accountability, execution, and best-in-class learning solutions
- Coach and develop team members through effective use of delegation, feedback, and development.
- Lead performance and learning consultation with the business, and teaching/coaching consulting skills within the team
- Build sustainable and scalable approaches to program/curricula creation, implementation and evaluation
- Stay close to the changing business context and skills in roles, anticipating shifts in training needs and approaches, the need for additional Training Programs, or how to merge Training Programs for roles with similar skills
- Decrease time to productivity and improve the employee experience using learning technology and best in class learning content and methods
- Create an evaluation approach tied to key performance metrics across programs to assess the effectiveness of Training Programs
- Create and oversee the skills taxonomy, ensure content developed is tied to skills, and user experience navigation aligns with skills
- Leverage generative AI to accelerate skills identification and learning content
- Identify, assess, and integrate emerging trends in learning and development, leveraging research-based insights to enhance employee Training Programs
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years in Learning & Development, focused on adult learning
- Designing, developing, and delivering impactful learning experiences across multiple modalities that build essential capabilities for frontline employees.
- Experience leveraging Agile, Lean and Design Thinking methodologies to lead cross-functional groups to align on frontline learner experience
- Experience in instructional design, program and curricula development
- Expertise in learning and program evaluation
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, learning best practices, learning technology and innovation
- Strong leadership skills, focused on setting high expectations and creating a high accountability and ownership culture
- Strong collaboration, communication, influence, and consulting skills
- Process oriented with a focus on execution, creating sustainable and scalable learning solutions
