JOB TITLE: Director of Teaching & Learning, Curriculum & PathwaysREPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent - Educational Services and Strategic PartnershipsLENGTH OF CONTRACT: Twelve Months RESPONSIBILITIES:The District 155 Director of Teaching & Learning, Curriculum & Pathways is responsible for the continuous development and evaluation of Teaching, learning, curriculum, and pathways, working in conjunction with each of our schools, the district office, our feeder districts, post-secondary institutions, and community workforce partners. REQUIREMENTS:Master's degree with Illinois General Administrative Endorsement.Successful teaching and leadership experience.Strong knowledge of research-based curricular best practices.Ability to manage complex projects. Excellent communication skills, working effectively with teachers, supervisory personnel, administration and the Board of Education.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:Work with building principals, division leaders, and other academic leaders to ensure an effectively coordinated curriculum.Coordinate instructional materials and textbook process, including online options, and budget.Align departmental and course goals to the district's mission and core values.Evaluate curriculum offerings to assure rigor and relevance. Manage SAT, ISA, ACCESS, DLM, and other standardized assessments.Manage district data system and educate principals and academic leaders on student achievement data. Lead others in understanding, designing, and delivering sound assessment practices.Identify and develop new courses or modify existing courses, reflecting the needs of the student population, including special education and ELL.Keep up to date on current research and best practices leading to effective, continuously improving district curriculum and assessment practices.Manage grants including Perkins/CTEI, Title II, Title IV, library per capita grant, and other related funding sources.Manage NCAA Clearinghouse.Evaluate teachers.Oversee curriculum and assessment-related technology tools including Canvas, Mastery Manager, and others.

Manage all matters related to dual credit course offerings including teacher certification, student rostering, and serve as direct liaison to MCC. Maintain the course selection guide.Coordinate 9th grade course placement process and events.Oversee the completion of federal and state-mandated reporting including, but not limited to the U.S. Department of Education Civil Rights Data Report.Supporting VPs with summer school coordination and programming related to summer H Biology.Manage PLTW learning management system; specifically uploading student rosters and maintaining teacher-related accounts.Manage AP course audit process.Coordinate articulation with feeder districts and community colleges related to curriculum.Support the Assistant Superintendent - Educational Services and Strategic Partnerships with activities associated with the Board of Education's curriculum committee.Facilitate VP & lead district leader meeting.Collaborate with Application and Services Coordinator in an effort to make certain course-related information is accurate in Skyward including the district's taxonomy system.Supports Assistant Superintendent of Student Services with curriculum and assessment-related matters with student service coordinators at monthly meetings.Works with building VPs and DLs to coordinate PD events for district staff including but not limited to internal coursework, awarding PD hours, course approval process, summer curriculum work, staff conference attendance, and other PD events.Works with DLs and HR to facilitate placement of student teachers and interns across the district.Coordinates the New Faculty Induction Program and Mentor Program for all 1st and 2nd year teachers.Support curriculum efforts to embed the Career Experiences Program across all curricular areas.Performs other tasks assigned by the Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services and Strategic Partnerships.Facilitate, lead, and participate in district strategic plan goal teams pertaining to student success.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see, hear, and type on a computer or device.

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, use stairs, or crouch. In addition, the employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
