Primary Responsibilities
- Provide bold thinking and ideas that challenge the status quo to advance the enterprise by improving current performance in existing products/segments and by expanding the enterprise beyond its current operations.
- Develop the strategy, vision, and leadership to identify new revenue streams derived from new products, markets, and ideas that leverage the best of KNA.
- Analyze/assess market trends, customer trends, customer segment opportunities, and competitive activity to inform and stress-test proposed initiatives
- Create insightful and actionable business cases for strategic initiatives and advocate for their approval
- Analyze Joint Venture (JV), Partnership, and Merger & Acquisition (M&A) opportunities
- Assist with leading comprehensive strategic and annual planning while working with executive leaders to integrate the business planning with financial planning and coordinate efforts with departments within the organization.
- Recommend and help prioritize business actions and strategic priorities.
- Facilitate strategic executive meetings with the CEO and his direct reports
- Communicate progress, results, obstacles, and facilitate effective decision making
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Business preferred
- MBA from a top tier business school.
- 5-7 years total experience, with ideally 2-4 years as a management consultant in a reputed management consulting firm.
- Experience in Strategy consulting or Corporate Strategy roles from major consulting firms. Alternatively, could have experience at a top-tier corporate strategy group
- Experience building strong executive relationships by utilizing consultative and influencing actions to drive change within large, complex organizations
- Proven reputation for delivering successful projects while leading by example and with integrity.
- Operational experience and knowledge of finance and education fields a plus
- Best-in-class MS PowerPoint and strong Excel skills; expertise with tools of trade used by the management consultants; strong ability to research and generate / frame assumptions
- Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate through face-to-face and written communication with various and diverse individuals and audiences.
- Superior story-boarding and strategy-framing capabilities
- An exceptional ability to understand the key drivers of the business, identify and capture performance improvement opportunities, and resolve complex issues.
- Excellent project management ability.
- Ability to see the big picture and extraordinary detail orientation
- Senior executive presence and courage to fall behind an unpopular idea or champion a cause; ability to engage with senior-most leaders in current and prospective corporate (C-level executives) and university (President, Provost, Dean) partners
