Job Summary The O'Neill School is has begun implementing our 2022-27 Strategic plan, Stewarding Social Betterment and Environmental Sustainability, with goals of catalyzing essential research; providing innovative education; advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion; fostering a connected and engaged School; and pursuing strategic investments and improving our operations. To assist us in these endeavors, O'Neill seeks a Director of Strategic Initiatives/Project Management Leader. Reporting to the Dean's Office, this position will work with O'Neill School leadership to set project goals and timelines, and identify resource requirements and constraints.

Department-Specific Responsibilities Provides Project Management Leadership and support, to ensure that projects are effectively moving to completion. Builds relationships with staff directors and faculty to ensure the relevant stakeholders are engaged in each project. Undertakes new projects related to Strategic Initiatives of the school, in addition to projects aimed at improving operations of the school.

Establishes milestones and measurement criteria. Accesses and analyzes data in support of decision making. Communicates regularly with leadership the status of activities.

General Responsibilities Provides day-to-day operational management of Project Management staff. Establishes short-term operational objectives. Manages projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.

Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and//or operational efficiency; provides oversight for continuous integration, testing, quality assurance and quality control efforts. Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed. Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.

Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team/or assigned staff. Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve Project Management operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
