General Summary of Job Duties: The Director of Security is a key leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security strategies to safeguard the casino, its patrons, and assets. This position requires a combination of strategic planning, hands-on operational management, and collaboration with various departments to maintain a secure and enjoyable gaming environment. The Director of Security plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and safety of the casino, contributing to a positive and secure gaming experience for patrons and employees alike.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Scope of responsibility includes Silverton Casino/Hotel, Hyatt Place Las Vegas at Silverton Village, Silverton Village, offsite company warehouse, as well as surrounding areas owned/operated by Majestic Realty, Silverton, or Exchange Hotels Management.
- Formulate and implement a robust security strategy aligned with the casino's goals and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and update security protocols to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential security incidents or crises.
- Conduct regular drills and training exercises to prepare the security team for various scenarios.
- Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Collaborate with other departments to address vulnerabilities and enhance overall security measures.
- Stay current with security technology trends and implement innovative solutions to enhance surveillance and access control systems.
- Work closely with other departments, such as Operations, Surveillance, and Human Resources, to ensure a holistic approach to security management.
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures for the protection of company assets.
- Oversee the day-to-day Security operations, including access control, and personnel security.
- Recruit, train, and manage a skilled Security team.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Security personnel, ensuring a high level of professionalism and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of departmental budget and PNL.
- Coordinates with third party legal representatives in response to Risk Management claims/issues as needed.
Education/Experience
- Proven experience in a Security leadership position.
- Knowledge OF SECURITY protocols and procedures.
- Familiarity with access control systems, surveillance equipment, and emergency response planning.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to security incidents outside regular business hours.
Skills, Education & Other Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a security supervisory role.
- Demonstrated Security and/or Law Enforcement ability as well as incident investigation skills.
- The necessity to write legibly and coherently is required.
- The original statements, reports, logs and other written material completed by Security personnel are frequently utilized for legal and judicial proceedings which may not accept taped, transcribed or otherwise translated material.
- Additional or continued educational certificates in related fields.
