This position requires a progressive Sales executive, a strong leader who can develop and implement ongoing strategic initiatives that will positively impact hotel revenues and profits. The position is responsible for selling, administration, communications, and inventory management. Sales and Catering personnel development and training are also components of this position. Executive Committee position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Identify sources of group business to the hotel and establish solicitation programs to maximize sales
  • Identify sources of individual business and provide the sales elements for developing relationships with them
  • Maintain accurate forecasting for all group/individual segments and identify value periods for all sales emphasis
  • Participate in key site inspections and client events
Sales Administration
  • Establish programs and direct efforts to achieve group and individual room night goals and to develop ongoing relationships with customers
  • Monitor sales production and adjust sales activities, account coverage and sales priorities as necessary to achieve plan goals
  • Establish account qualifications criteria and use market research and telemarketing resources to identify priority markets and accounts; assign sales managers to assure coverage of all major markets
  • Establish travel schedules and monitor travel expenses to optimize sales productivity
  • Develop active communications and close rapport with Convention & Visitors Bureau, National Sales Offices, Planners Associations and other sources of Sales information and support
  • Plan, establish goals for and administer outbound sales programs to deliver qualified leads to other Loews Hotels
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and the Director of Revenue Management to develop forecasts, budgets, and required reports
Sales Personnel Development
  • Lead and develop sales personnel
  • Recruit, select, train and motivate sales department personnel to realize their potential and develop individuals for advancement
  • Assure understanding of position descriptions, goals and standards of performance for sales department personnel; conduct formal semi-annual evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and counseling
  • Maintain established personnel policies and procedures of Hotel
  • Execute one-on-one counseling to all appropriate personnel on selling techniques and closing skills
Selling Goals
  • Take responsibility for specified accounts or markets
  • Achieve personal sales goals and be responsible for a representative selection of key accounts
  • Execute sales trips beneficial to designated market segments as specified in annual marketing plan
  • Participate in key industry events that bring national and local exposure
Inventory Management
  • Control public space so as to maximize group revenues
  • Conduct Business Review meetings
  • Maximize Rooms and meeting space (unless exception directed by DOM,) managing space commitments and identifying opportunities for focused sales programs
  • Coordinate group room forecasts with reservations department so as to help hotel achieve capacity room use
Communications
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels
  • Maintain close, frequent open communications with DOM and other marketing department heads
  • Maintain supportive, timely communications with National Sales Office and other Loews Hotels
  • Coordinate communication between sales department and operating departments of the hotel to assure awareness of booking and sales programs
  • Maintain timely, responsive communication with accounts and prospects

  • Represent Loews Hotels in a professional manner at all times

  • Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance

  • Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
  • Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
  • Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules
  • Recycles whenever possible
  • Remains current with hotel information and changes
  • Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards

  • Must be a skilled leader, have strong organizational skills, and have thorough knowledge and understanding of hotel operations
Education:
  • College degree preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years hospitality sales experience
Salary range: 180k - 210k annually
Salary range for this position, based on experience, is $168,000.00 to $210,000.00.
