The Director of Revenue Cycle provides leadership and direction to the Revenue Cycle department. Directs, plans and organizes Revenue Cycle information systems activities for the Health System. Provides oversight of business process improvement, quality auditing and training and Revenue Cycle project management. Collaborates with other departments to ensure optimal system-wide best practices.

Your Everyday

  • Process Improvement:

- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implements them by engaging stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Understands interrelationships among systems and processes across functional areas to redesign process, improve efficiency and ensure optimal results.
- Provides oversight regarding the development of business cases in conjunction with other relevant SMEs that facilitate local or regional Revenue Cycle strategies.
- Coordinates and implements Revenue Cycle initiatives, including identifying and assembling resources when necessary.
- Formulates and makes recommendations to leadership on policies and practices relating to Revenue Cycle improvements

  • Compliance Coordination and People:

- Recruits, selects, develops, retains and motivates staff to ensure the maintenance of a highly credentialed and competent team.
- Analyzes the impact of environmental changes in managed care, health care reform and government payment systems on financial operations.
- Collaborates with other system leaders to establish accountability and coordination between Revenue Cycle and other departments.
- Ensures that all current Revenue Cycle operations are in accordance with relevant regulations and standards

  • Planning:

- Supports the annual planning process to establish objectives and performance measures that gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of Revenue Cycle operations.
- Plans and launches new revenue and collection initiatives with management on a regular basis. Brainstorms methods for achieving objectives and carries projects through until goals are successfully attained, providing direction and guidance to subordinates throughout.
- Responsible for planning and implementing new client billing arrangements for the system as they arise.

  • Leadership:

- Accountable for the overall implementation and success of the Community Connect platform and business line from a Revenue Cycle standpoint.
- Serves as the Chair of the Payor Operations Committee
- Serves as the Revenue Cycle Project Management Lead for Epic and other Revenue Cycle ancillary system upgrades.
- Serves as the Revenue Cycle Leader supporting the clinically integrated network including, but not limited to population health, MACRA, MIPS and Health Partners.
- Serves as the Physician Revenue Cycle Liaison while effectively managing the relationship between Revenue Cycle and physicians/physician group leadership.

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience in Patient Financial Services required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in CBO and/or PFS management required.
  • Experience with Epic preferred.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Health Services or

Business Administration required, but may
substitute any equivalent combination of
secondary education and training that
provides the desired knowledge, skills and
abilities required for position.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient skills to collect, organize and analyze data, produce actionable reports and recommend improvements and solutions.
  • Strong knowledge in the areas of project management, patient registration, billing, accounts receivable management, cash management, managed care contractual terms and requirements, health insurance practices, wage and hour regulations, basic accounting including AR reserve analysis and industry standards for healthcare revenue resolution.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to collect, organize and analyze data, produce.

actionable reports and recommend improvements and solutions.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional leader with ability to foster staff motivation and productive working environment.
  • Proven abilities related to project planning, management and prioritization.
  • Ability to adapt to change and handle challenges proactively and with pose.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with physicians and managerial staff at all levels.
  • Highly skilled experience and knowledge of Windows-based software required, including but not limited to Microsoft.

Windows, Outlook, Excel and Access.

  • Strong knowledge of practice management and billing software required.
