As a Director of Radiology you will:
- Provide overall leadership, guidance, and supervision to the Radiology Department in order to achieve compliance with organizational and unit policies and standards.
- Responsible for the hiring, scheduling, mentoring, coaching, termination, and disciplinary actions of the Radiology Department staff. Work in collaboration with the Human Resources department to develop strategic recruitment and employment programs to attract the best qualified candidates to the organization. Responsible for the Radiology Department's performance management and improvement programs / initiatives.
- Participate in department head meetings, leadership huddles, staff meetings, and attends other meetings and events as they relate to the Radiology Department function(s).
- Develop, implement, monitor, and adjust the annual operating budgets and three-year capital expenditures for the Radiology Department with the guidance and oversight of the Chief Nursing and Quality Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
- Assist staff with direct patient care as needed, including providing patient education relative to specific exams.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient, resident, personnel information, and all other hospital information.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Associates or certification in Radiology.
- Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
- Possess current Iowa General Permit to Practice License.
- Minimum of five years of clinical radiology supervisory experience required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified within 60 days of hire.
- Child and Adult Mandatory Reporter Certificate within 90 days of hire.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- Ability to maintain a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, physicians, patients, and visitors.
- Adaptability to influence people in their opinions, attitudes, or judgements about ideas or things.
- Skilled in oral and written communications.
