The Director of Quality is a key leader, overseeing our Food Quality Plan and ensuring top-tier product quality across all facilities. This role involves strategic decision-making, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and maintaining operational excellence. The director will drive adherence to product and production standards, contributing to a positive and customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Food Quality Plan with Critical Quality Points (CQPs) and critical limits.
- Collaborate with the Director of Food Safety to enforce FSQA policies and programs.
- Foster a "Quality" oriented culture that encourages continuous improvement.
- Implement electronic data collection systems for real-time data.
- Lead data analysis, process measurements, and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Establish and integrate product and production equipment standards.
- Monitor and address deviations and complaints through RC-CARs.
- Conduct product quality evaluations and sensory attendance at customer facilities.
- Address customer complaints and provide effective problem-solving solutions.
- Assist the Director of Food Safety in managing ingredient supplier FSQA documentation.
- Ensure ingredient Certificate of Analysis (COA) verification testing.
- Contribute to Food Defense and Food Fraud policies and procedures.
- Participate in SQF inspections, risk assessments, and policy updates.
- Lead training efforts for the Quality team.
- Attend quarterly SQS meetings and facilitate weekly Quality Meetings.
- Assist in Research and Development for new products.
- Support all customer requests and portals.
- Ensure timely completion of sample requests from customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the food industry.
- Knowledge of SQF standards and regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement.
