The Director of Public Safety is responsible for implementing safety and security strategies and managing the Chesley Brown security personnel assigned to the site. The Director will help coordinate the implementation of safety and security strategies based on industry best practices. This responsibility is accomplished by being a proactive and accessible resource for businesses, property owners, visitors, and residents. The Director is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the three local police departments serving the property, local government officials, and other security entities located on the property to promote the property's safety and security efforts. The Director will be the primary subject matter expert on all safety and security matters for the property, provide direct business consulting services, and develop programs to further property-wide security goals as needed.

Position Details:

  • Exempt, Full-Time: 40 hours/week, hours. The required schedule will be Tuesday to Thursday, 8 am to 4 pm. And Friday and Saturday, 2 pm to 10 pm.
  • Reports to Chesley Brown International Vice President - Eastern
  • Attends staff meetings as required, as well as meets with businesses, local police, and other emergency services, as needed.
  • Availability by phone and text message during non-business hours is required to address incidents and coordinate any necessary responses based on stakeholder requests.
  • On-site availability during peak hours/days may be required beyond the core schedule to effectively evaluate neighborhood crime, coordinate with security personnel and off-duty police officers, and identify pain points within the neighborhood.
  • Help guide the Public Safety program’s vision and mission in accordance with the client's requests.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Previous security management experience (5 years) required.
  • Previous Law Enforcement experience is a plus.

Previous employment must be verifiable, references available upon request

  • Prepare and manage payroll.
  • Coordinate off-duty police resources assigned to the property and communicate with off-duty personnel to ensure patrol shifts are efficiently covered and security concerns and issues are effectively addressed throughout the property. Track and maintain records of incident reports, 911 responses, and trends to inform coverage.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the Property Manager.
  • Assess and adjust a district security coverage plan continuously (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually) to remain adaptive to changing needs.
  • Monitor area events, multiple media, and social media outlets for variations in the level of neighborhood activity and risks, threats, and vulnerabilities confronting the property.
  • Continuously evaluate security resources to advise on efforts to mitigate safety concerns.
  • Communicate updates to stakeholders, as appropriate (e.g., for major road closures, construction-related safety hazards, and other significant situational changes).
  • Craft and share Public Safety reports for the client and businesses to inform stakeholders of activity within the property.
  • Serve as the direct point of contact for local businesses to coordinate incident response.
  • Maintaining working relationships with security personnel at other late-night establishments as well as other loss prevention and security teams throughout the property.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

· Valid driver’s license.

· Previous security management experience (5 years) required.

· Previous Law Enforcement experience is a plus.
