Director of Pricing Research and Insights

Location: Bellevue, Washington

The Business Models and Pricing team plays a critical role in driving long-term business growth by maximizing value-capture across the entire SAP product portfolio, accelerating customers’ transition to the cloud, and unlocking the transformative power of AI. In close partnership with Engineering, Product Marketing, Finance, and Sales teams, we design business models and pricing strategies that leverage qualitative and quantitative market research insights to expand revenue, grow share, accelerate cloud shift, and facilitate cross-sell.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Pricing Research and Insights, reporting to the VP of Price Realization and Insights, is responsible for the following areas:

  • Define SAP’s strategy and approach for Pricing Research to inform pricing, packaging, and licensing proposals
  • Facilitate and manage major Pricing Research initiatives that involve third-party research firms, helping to define the appropriate research methodology and survey design
  • Facilitate and manage lightweight Pricing Research initiatives that draw on expert panels, customer discussions, analyst inquiries, and secondary research resources
  • Present, influence, and align executives and the broader organization on major Pricing Research insights through effective storytelling and cross-functional collaboration
  • Establish, maintain, and facilitate relationships with key third-party vendors

EXPERIENCE & SKILLSET

  • 7+ years of experience in qualitative and quantitative market research in the commercial cloud applications and services space
  • Proven experience developing creative solutions to complex business problems
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across a large organization and influence a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Ability to breakdown and navigate complex topics through effective presentation and storytelling to secure alignment
  • Growth mindset and creative problem solver who thrives in an ever-changing environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, particularly with executive audiences
  • Undergraduate Degree required; MBA preferred
  • Fluent in English

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 176,100 - 398,300 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
