JOB TITLE:    Director of Platform Engineering

LOCATION:    11000 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)

DUTIES:    Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. Duties include: leading the development of a new cloud native platform; provide leadership, technical guidance, and coaching/mentoring to our distributed engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions; collaborate and lead across functions; collaborate with the team in solving technical issues on performance, scalability, security, and interoperability including technical leadership for the full product life cycle such as requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance; Support agile delivery for the Engineering functions; Partner with Program leadership and other workstreams to identify and manage issues, risks and dependencies; and Partner and manage stakeholder relationships. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.     

REQUIREMENTS:    Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or a related computer occupation. Position requires eight (8) years of experience in the following: 
   Developing and delivering commercial enterprise software;
   Applications and Infrastructure in Cloud Compute workloads in GCP, AWS, or Azure;
   Modern Agile / DevOps development process, including continuous integration and deployment, tracking of project metrics, and unifying development and operations;
   REST API(s);
   Data stores and databases (including performance tuning), such as SQL Server, Azure Cosmos, MySQL, Hadoop, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra;
   Developing full application stacks;
   Deploying cloud solutions into hybrid environments, including architecting services for simultaneous cloud and on-premise deployment;
   Client / server and distributed system / cloud architecture patterns; and
   Dealing with large data sets and developing analytic software.

RATE OF PAY:  $184,870 to $240,000 / per year
