Director Of Operational Risk Management For Enterprise Operations Product Coverage (Hybrid)

The Operational Risk Sr Group Manager for Enterprise Operations Product Coverage is a strategic professional within Operational Risk Management (ORM). Overall objective of this role is managing Operational Risk within select areas of Enterprise Operations & Technology (EO&T) functioning as an Operational RiskProduct Coverage Lead. The ORM Enterprise Operations team is a team that is focused on effectively managing risk across processes and operations in Citi Shared Services (CSS) within EO&T.
Reporting to the Global Operational Risk Management (ORM) Head of Enterprise Operations and Processing Risk, the Enterprise Operations ORM Product Coverage Lead manages various different Operational Risks within Enterprise Operations.
This senior role focusses on Operational Risk within Enterprise Operations and ensures that aggregate enterprise Operational Risk profile for these processes adequately reflects across all elements of the Operational Risk framework including Risk identification, Monitoring, MCA, correct risk taxonomy application etc. The role will work closely with the various other ORM coverage and risk stripes to develop and execute a cohesive Operational Risk Management program for Enterprise Operations. The role will ensure that Enterprise Operations risks inform and are informed by the aggregate risk profile vantage point this role will have and it will drive enterprise level Risk Management and monitoring best practices in this segment
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of financial services as well as shared service centers along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This person will be accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Responsibilities include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities.
Role Responsibilities:

• Establishes and oversees the application of Operational Risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks in the Enterprise Operations and Citi Shared Services space.
• Independently assesses risk and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to Operational Risk losses or breaches of key risk metrics by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
• Governance and oversight may include multiple risk types in line with the firm's Risk Taxonomy.
• Works with colleagues in all lines of defence as well as other areas of Risk Management, Finance, Compliance/Control and the Businesses to assure appropriate management of Operational Risk processes.
• Facilitates accurate and appropriate reporting of Operational Risks to senior management and the Board of Directors.
• Promotes the use of risk indicators.
• Supports corporate initiatives, including those related to Operational Risk and the alignment of capital assessments with Risk Management objectives.
• Drives the strategic direction of Operational Risk Management for the Enterprise OperationsProduct Coverage group, working with colleagues around the globe to identity emerging Operational Risks in the context of the current economic, regulatory and business environment and assure that measures are being taken to mitigate these risks.
• Analyzes Operational Risk data (typically losses, metrics or assessment results) to identify areas of excessive risk and to ensure that mitigation efforts are having the desired effect(s).
• Challenge various elements of the risk framework such as lessons learned, Managers Control Assessment, Scenario Analysis and other routines are appropriately reflective of the risk within the managed segment.
• Facilitates adherence to specific regulatory requirements for the Operational Risk Framework as applicable to the Enterprise Operations businesses
• Interfaces with Regulators and Senior Management on Operational Risk matters

Experience / Competencies:

• 15+ years relevant experience within the financial services industry
• Deep understanding of a shared services model and processes in Finance and Risk Shared Services, Human Resources Shared Services, Business & Travel Shared Services and/or Supplier Payments.
• In-depth understanding of Operational Risk, risk and control, risk framework and policy/governance.
• Experience in understanding and applying Citi's Operational Risk framework. Knowledge of other risk disciplines (Compliance, AML, technology risk, processing risk etc) a plus.
• Experience in assessing business processes front-to-back inclusive of technology and operations and process improvement considerations.
• Knowledge of operations and technology best practices for the Enterprise Operations and Citi shared Services business.
• Demonstrated ability to drive first line enhancements to risk governance, risk assessments, and risk reporting.
• Demonstrated analytical ability; asks insightful questions, break analytical challenges into workable components and draws meaningful conclusions. Well versed in breaking down complex matters into core issues and root causes that can be more readily addressed.
• Proficient in developing new ideas to mitigate risk and improve current processes.
• Prioritizes high impact potential problems effectively. Consistently reads different situations accurately and takes appropriate action to gain senior colleague/ client commitment.
• Outstanding communication and influencing skills through all levels of the organization and with external partners. Exceptional relationship management skills; must be able to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships. Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad audience.
• Experience in managing and motivating a global diverse team
• Strong influencer with a focus on building relationships with first line SMEs while remaining independent and retaining the ability to challenge effectively.
• Advanced Leadership skills- operates as a leader, with an understanding and appreciation for diverse backgrounds.
