The role you’ll contribute:Director of Nursing

Working under the direction of the AVP of Clinical Excellence, and in alignment with the overall Clinical Excellence and AdventHealth Medical Group associated goals, the position is responsible for the overall clinical processes in an ambulatory service line, clinical education and professional group, clinical competencies, culture of safety, regulatory and compliancy goals and medical education. The AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) WFD Director of Nursing is a Registered Nurse with an advance degree who has experience within the ambulatory settings and is proficient in partnering with AHMG leadership, academic institutions and community stakeholders to strategize and sustain pipelines of future clinical team members and leaders within AHMG. The Director of Nursing is responsible for assisting in the development of medical education strategy for healthcare professionals that aligns with and supports company goals and advances market access. This professional is responsible for developing, facilitating, and implementing comprehensive regional and local programs that include, but not limited to, in-person, digital and virtual programs. This role is responsible to assist AHMG to deliver results through action plans and education which is focused on driving patient safety and clinical performance improvement. This role requires a strong working knowledge of compliance/regulatory, educational modalities and curriculum build, and leader/provider coaching. In collaboration with the Assistant Vice President, establishes strategy, and culture for all nursing, medical assistant, radiology, laboratory professionals within AHMG, as well as medical and clinical educational fields.

  • Fosters relationships with preferred high school career programs, community colleges, county, state, federal endeavors and private accrediated programs to educate medical assistants and other clinical positions in effort to attract, recruit, develop and retain high performing employees.
  • Maintains educational records for certifications and others noncertified classes for AHMG clinical employees.
  • Assists in designing education programs such as, skills assessments, new knowledge seminars, and developmental clinical curriculum to enhance the clinical excellence and standardization of the clinical team members to increase professional growth and clinical excellence.
  • Conducts on-going assessments of educational programming, including reviewing and evaluating new teaching materials.
  • Creates and maintains all AdventHealth Learning Network courses.
  • Participates in vendor teaching to ensure curriculum and competencies are taught and reviewed.

Minimum qualifications :

  • Knowledge of risk management concepts
  • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Demonstrates a broad clinical knowledge and curriculum building.
  • Demonstrates competency in personal leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and mentor others to their optimum levels of skill and professionalism.
  • Demonstrates competency in regard to communication and relationship building.
  • Demonstrates the ability to include evidence-based practice standards for care delivery in their area of specialty.
  • Ability to act independently and be initiative-taking.
  • Is a role model for professionalism and advocate for AHMG
  • Able to manage and complete multiple tasks within designated timeframes and be able to work independently and collaboratively, within a fast-paced, matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills and ability to implement program goals.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent creative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration or related field
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • Five years of Nursing experience
  • Experience as a registered nurse within the ambulatory settings
  • Experience in successfully supervising team members.
  • Maintains current State of Florida Registered Nurse license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license

Preferred qualifications:

  • Four (4) years as a registered nurse in an acute care or outpatient setting, with two (2) years leadership experience (at least one (1) year at the nurse manager level)
  • Experience with a large, multi-specialty physician group
  • Experience in practice-based healthcare setting
  • Experience in developing and managing direct reports.
  • Working knowledge of accreditation and program requirements for outpatient clinical education programs
  • Project Management experience
  • Prior experience in reviewing dashboard metrics
  • Prior experience in creating educational events or curriculum for professional growth.
  • National leadership board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) within 2 years.
  • ACLS Certification
