We focus on programs that accelerate recovery and provide ancillary opportunities for orthopedic practices. We do all of this while combating the Opioid Epidemic head on. We are located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, MI and we are looking for a full-time Director of Medical Billing. Hybrid work is available, and we prefer candidates in Michigan.

What You'll Do

• Work closely with the Executive Management Team, Finance, Sales and Operations to establish efficient billing and reporting processes
• Administer and manage the entire Medical Billing process for multiple companies
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Medical Billing department and ensure that all billing-related tasks are completely accurate and revenue is properly recognized; this includes the preparations of statements, coding, payments, and collections
• Develop and implement a comprehensive billing strategy aligned with the organizations goals and objectives
• Provide strong leadership, guidance and training to Billing Manager and billing team members to ensure a culture of performance excellence and continuous improvement
• Develop a strategy around payor relations and foster strong working relationships
• Proactively analyze billing data to identify, develop and execute solutions to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency within billing and collections
• Collaborate in creation and maintenance of standardized work procedures, guidelines, and solutions for the billing team to ensure consistent, efficient processes for the monthly billing cycle
• Review and analyze customer contracts and pricing and negotiate as needed
• Ensure an efficient collections process based on legal parameters to ensure compliance with company, local, state and federal guidelines
• Collaborate with Finance team to ensure billing and accounts receivable information is managed and communicated properly so that sales force commissions are paid timely and accurately
• Ensure accurate maintenance of client records related to pricing, invoicing, and bill payments.
• Create and organize monthly, quarterly and yearly reports based on billing, revenue and other financial information
• Conduct billing audits
• Travel up to 10% of the time

What You'll Bring

• Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field and at least 5 years experience in Medical Billing or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of people management experience in the Medical Billing field
• Excellent understanding of workers compensation billing and collection practices and laws
• Excellent leadership skills with a high degree of integrity
• Ability to motivate, organize, and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization from different areas of expertise
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to analyze and communicate data and financial information
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of Medicare billing requirements
• Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
• Must be trustworthy, analytical and solution-oriented with superior follow-up skills, strong time management, a sense of urgency and the ability to shift gears frequently throughout the day

Nice to Have:
