The Director of Marketing is primarily responsible for the successful market analysis, commercial strategy, planning, project coordination, and launch of products and programs with highly differentiated value proposition that drive new sales and revenue opportunities for Surestep. In addition, the role is responsible for existing product and program lifecycle management and leading the product management team as well as collaboration across the rest of the marketing functions and key stakeholders throughout the organization. This role requires a proven track record of leading and evolving business through market analysis, product development, developing people and teams, and displaying financial acumen. This team member provides leadership and vision to drive business forward while balancing multiple competing priorities and finite resources. This position must be a strong people leader, able to influence cross-functional and cross-brand teams, and manage multiple agencies and team members to create the most compelling value proposition. 


  • Create and own data-driven commercial strategy that focuses on developing a product/program pipeline that will drive ongoing value for customers and opportunities for Surestep. 
  • Create and own data-driven marketing plans to capture life-cycle management of existing products/programs that includes but is not limited to: market analysis, voice of customer insights, value proposition, customer journeys and focused marketing and education communication plans to drive awareness and continuous adoption of Surestep’s portfolio. 
  • Lead cross-functional team to execute on commercial strategy programs/product launches and ongoing marketing campaigns
  • Strategic Market plan development and tactical execution of campaigns in all media channels to achieve sales goals; Drive sales, profit and consumer experience metrics.
  • Own strategy and execution of Marketing roadmap, working with internal and external teams, digital partners and best in-class vendors.
  • Develop and report key analytics to include all marketing efforts; manage expense budgeting and forecasting.
  • Lead operational decision making and partner with leadership in customer service, distribution and logistics to drive performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead new product development to include market analysis, value proposition, target audience, market inputs, packaging and design for omni channel strategies.
  • Perform appropriate competitive analyses, benchmarking and research to drive solid ROI analysis and recommendations. Analyze current and past trends, monitor performance indicators, highlight trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances. 
  • Manage all aspects of performance and development of direct reports to encourage professional growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional marketing partners to achieve results
  • Manage Product Management , both Exempt and Non-exempt.
  • Manage all strategic marketing decision and execute on plans, develops new processes and manages the marketing budget.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
  • 10 years of progressive marketing or related experience
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures. Some travel via automobile, airplane and other public transportation may be required. 

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Passionate for market and competitive research
  • Detail oriented and accurate in analyzing different forms of media
  • Experienced in defining programs, conceptualizing ideas that effectively leverage digital marketing, social media tools, website, sales funnels and other marketing technologies
  • Able to work under tight deadlines, organize and prioritize responsibilities and requests
  • Strong copywriting / copy editing skills
  • Proficiency with office software; such as, Microsoft Office suite and photo editing / design software
  • Dexterity of hands to operate a computer keyboard as well as seeing to read and review materials for accuracy.
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information with staff, internal and external customers, and public.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
