Director of Marketing and Programming
Job Summary
We are seeking a creative individual with proven success as a proactive leader in a lifestyle environment to develop and implement a well-defined marketing communications strategy and to plan and maximize property programming opportunities.
The Director of Marketing and Programming will possess a background in marketing a lifestyle brand, developing strategic partnerships, and will have experience in adapting new concepts and ideas into successful campaigns and developing strategies to maximize financial performance and achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
Core Work Activities
Creative Services:
- Work with Graphic design/branding agency for both digital and print (i.e. mailings, event announcements, sales presentation updates, etc.)
- Work with Social agency to review overall strategy and ensure content calendar is relevant and up-to-date
- Work with Creative Agency on content concepts and facilitate shoots, both still photography and video
- Brand Voice: Ensure all programming happening on site fits within the brand voice, narrative and framework
Property Programming
- Create a robust calendar of activations, programming, experiences, and events for the bars/lounges, terrace, and event space utilizing the creative and PR agencies and strategic partnerships.
- Event Production: from event concept to onsite delivery and post-event reconciliation. Oversee production, partner/client/vendor communication, budget and schedule management, event responsibilities
- Update content in-room TVs/ Tablets
- Manage Art-collection initiatives - both guest experience as well as colleague engagement and training
- Maintain talking points for property programming to share with colleagues
Digital
- Oversee Digital agency for ongoing SEO, PPC, Retargeting and Paid Social. Review reporting and analysis to verify ROI
- Website: Oversee content management as well as manage the calendar for ongoing content updates throughout the year
- Social Media: Support social media agency with influencer relations and community engagement opportunities
- Monitor guest facing touchpoints and distribution platforms to ensure new & accurate information is updated across platforms; including mobile app, in-room tablet, OTA’S, and brand affiliation websites and digital marketing
- Audit online review sites monthly and provide takeaways
- Work with HHM Digital Marketing Ecommerce team on Eblasts, Promotions, and Direct Marketing campaigns Expedia / OTA marketing campaigns
Public Relations
- Work with PR Agency on overall strategy and coordinate on-property press stays
- Generate PR worthy events and Programming for the hotel
- Media and Influencer Stays: Coordinate F&B offerings, personalized amenities and property experiences
Partnerships & Packaging:
- Identify prospective marketing partnerships and assist in various duties related to current partners
- Develop recap PPTs for successful events, promotions and partnerships
- Generate new package ideas with Marketing & Revenue team
Competitive Research
- Research new opportunities to grow marketing efforts. Specifically, identify:
- Digital: Culturally relevant offers, hotel promotions, influencer lists, and content
- Partnerships/Programming: Notable events and collaborations
- Neighborhood/DC Happenings
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with relevant Marketing, Digital, PR experience.
- Five years of progressive experience in Marketing and Programming.
- Hospitality experience required.
Work Environment and Context
- Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends or alternate shifts.
