Director of Marketing

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Marketing Director to lead our B2C and B2B marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies that drive growth and engagement. They will manage and support a team of four marketing specialists, and help the team meet their deadlines and goals.

They will oversee the day-to-day activities of all marketing channels for The Entrust Group and our affiliate companies The Entrust Trust Company and OpenAlt. These activities include social media, advertising, content marketing, webinars, public relations, outreach, email marketing, PPC, SEO, website development, and professional education offerings.

This role will report to the Chief Product and Marketing Officer (CPMO) and work directly with them to foster a positive and growth-oriented work environment aligned with corporate mission and goals.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and Implement Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with the CPMO to develop comprehensive marketing strategies that align with company objectives and drive growth in target markets.
  • Brand Management: Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and identity across all marketing channels to ensure consistency and resonance with target audiences. Make sure the brand is clearly articulated in a way that differentiates ourselves from the competition. Work with attorneys to ensure our trademarks are protected and monitor the space to make sure no one is infringing on our trademarks.
  • Digital Marketing: Lead day-to-day digital marketing efforts including website optimization, SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, content marketing, and online advertising campaigns to increase brand visibility and generate leads and accounts.
  • Content Strategy: Develop a content strategy that supports marketing objectives and resonates with target audiences in collaboration with our Content Marketing Specialist. Oversee the creation of high-quality content across various channels, including blog posts, pdf guides, videos, webinars, and more. Ensure that all content produced meets internal compliance standards.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Plan, coordinate, execute, and optimize marketing campaigns to drive engagement, lead generation, and conversion. Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and adjust strategies as needed to maximize ROI.
  • Lifecycle Marketing: Plan different drip campaigns and email workflows to guide leads through the funnel to conversion, improve customer experience, and increase client retention.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for growth. Use data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies and decision-making.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a team of 4 marketing specialists, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to maximize team effectiveness and individual growth.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies, including video agency, freelance graphic designer, freelance SEM specialist, and a marketing agency. Oversee the selection, negotiation, and coordination of vendor contracts and ensure deliverables meet quality standards, deadlines and are within budget.
  • KPI Setting and Reporting: In collaboration with the team and the CPMO, establish annual KPIs for the team and for each channel and initiative. Regularly report on KPIs to the CPMO, providing insights, analysis, and recommendations for optimizing marketing strategies and improving performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, including Sales, Software Development, Operations, and Client Services, to ensure alignment and cohesion across all aspects of the business.
  • Knowledge Management: Create, modify, and document departmental SOPs, and develop cross-training to ensure adequate backup of tasks. Maintain Marketing Drive with most up-to-date files and documents.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the CPMO to develop the marketing budget each year. Monitor spending, track performance against budgetary goals, and make adjustments as needed to optimize resource allocation and maximize ROI.
  • Sales and Operations Support: Ensure marketing provides support to the Sales, Operations, and Client Services teams as needed. Work closely with Sales to align the Marketing and Sales strategy and make sure the message across Sales and Marketing activities is consistent.
  • Marketing POC: Serve as the first point of contact for most escalations, questions, and feedback from the Marketing team and other departments; resolve most escalations, involving the CPMO only when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry such as financial services preferred but not required.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive growth and achieve business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and technologies, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Background in content creation and development with advanced writing and editing skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead effectively in a remote work setting.
  • Experience with a CMS required- HubSpot preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated with good follow through skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Work closely with Human Resources Director to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive workplace environment.
  • Resourceful, hands on, excellent reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Creative eye for design.
  • Identify and implement ways to build and maintain a healthy and positive team culture.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office programs, Adobe Creative Suite, GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Drive, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework a plus.
