Job description

BCBA Junior Director

Job Overview: As a BCBA Junior Director, and under the supervision of a Senior Director, you will be responsible for conducting behavioral assessments, creating behavior intervention plans, and overseeing the implementation of those plans. Your focus will be on individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disorders, providing support to clients and their families. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective evidence-based interventions, including EIBT (early intensive behavioral interventions), NET (Naturalistic Environment Teaching), and DTT (Discrete Trial Teaching.)

Responsibilities:

Behavioral Interventions: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate and address behaviors. Collect and analyze data to identify functional relationships between behavior and environmental factors. In collaboration with a Senior Director, develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment findings. Supervise staff to ensure clinical integrity of the BIP and provide caregiver training to support effective implementation of the recommended strategies.

Client Goals / Programming: In collaboration with a Senior Director, develop individualized programming / goals to address deficits in areas of language, social skills, cognitive and self help skills and excesses in behaviors of concern. Support the clinical team and provide caregiver support / training to ensure the clinical integrity of the implementation of these programs. Ensure that generalization of these skills is being supported.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, educators, and other professionals to create a holistic support system.Provide training and guidance to team members, including therapists, parents, and educators.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and progress. Ensure that the clinical team is also maintaining clinical records. Support parents in collecting requesting data. Generate reports to communicate progress and outcomes to clients, families, and other stakeholders and submit to Senior Director for review.

Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest research and developments in applied behavior analysis.Pursue continuing education and training opportunities to maintain BCBA certification.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disorders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Able to travel to multiple work sites; reliable transportation needed (proof of valid CA driver license, current auto insurance identification card, and maintain acceptable driving record per NIAC standards is required).
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment.
  • Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Experience with implementing behavior reduction procedures.
  • Experience with parent training and generalization.
  • Experience with supervising and supporting client integration into typical preschool / academic settings.
  • Experience with supervising and supporting peer socialization sessions.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of billable tasks that meet the requirements of regulatory agencies and funding sources and is HIPAA compliant.
  • Track direct and indirect client sessions to ensure that services are provided to the full extent of the authorization for each client.
  • Participate in the onboarding and training procedures for new clinical staff.
  • Coordinate documentation to ensure reauthorization and continuation of services when necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Support staff in meeting productivity requirements set forth in quarterly meetings for providing efficient and effective service in all areas of performance.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to Clinic Supervisors and therapists to maintain clinical integrity of services.
  • Manage the performance of supervised staff, identifying areas for improvement when needed, create and implement performance management plans when appropriate in collaboration with the Executive Clinical Director and HR.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are communicated to and understood by clinical teams supervised.
  • Attends staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
  • Responsible to complete additional job duties as assigned by Site Directors and Clinical Directors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with clients.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent speaking and listening (50%) to clients, staff, and other professionals in meetings and on the phone.
  • Frequent driving (to and from office and client homes).
  • Occasional sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and work at the computer.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials up to and including 25lbs to 50lbs used in-home visits.
  • Ability to physically implement behavior management strategies including responding to physically aggressive behavior.
  • Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously.
  • Ability to utilize a computer, cell phone (iPhone), fax machine, telephone, and copy machine.
  • Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively within the workplace, read and write using the primary language within the workplace.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must pass a maintain a DOJ/FBI clearance prior to and during employment
  • Must provide a TB clearance prior to employment and as required during employment in accordance with company policy
  • Must provide proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella; Varicella; Pertussis AND documentation of physical ability to perform services prior to employment in accordance with company policy
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance

**Must have reliable transportation and will travel to client homes and other community settings, as required, to provide services.
