OVERVIEW

Lead the implementation of Market Access provider-facing strategies to minimize access and reimbursement barriers and ensure timely access and payment for patients who are candidates for Lantheus products. This Director will play a key role in support of PNT 2002, Lantheus’ first radioligand therapy candidate. The successful candidate will be a player/coach with responsibility for leading Lantheus’ provider-facing Market Access team to proactively educate hospital billing staff, free-standing imaging centers, large urology group practices (LUGPAs) and oncology providers in support of PYLARIFY and the Lantheus portfolio. This team will serve as the facilitators of Market Access and Patient Services across all sites of care. The Director of the Market Access Field Team will also drive customer education on coding, billing, and policy criteria to minimize inappropriate patient selection and claims issues. The successful candidate will have a unique mix of skills that includes a proven track record of developing and leading teams, achieving key account pull-through, working across internal and external stakeholders to facilitate appropriate coverage and payment, and a keen understanding of the business of healthcare.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position reports to the Head of Field Market Access.
  • Hands-on leader responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight of payer access, and key accounts.
  • Implements patient services in all sites of care.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, leading, and evaluating field-based regional Market Access team.
  • Oversees initiatives with key customer groups including but not limited to Nuclear Medicine physicians, Radiologists, Urologists, Medical Oncologists, prior authorization specialists and staff, and C-Suite administrators to ensure strong business relationships are developed, fostered, and nurtured.
  • Drives the development and execution of Market Access programs for provider and staff education.
  • Drives the execution of quarterly business reviews for large imaging centers, hospitals, and select population health accounts.
  • Conceptualize and implement customer tools for product billing and coding education.
  • Participate in the development of strategies and tactics for field reimbursement support at the account level in collaboration with the Head of Market Access and Head of Market Access Strategy.
  • Develop and communicate plans and key metrics to communicate status of key customer accounts.
  • Work with cross-functional partners (Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, etc.) to deliver business objectives

TYPICAL MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field; advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of overall industry experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals (i.e., Market Access/reimbursement, sales, sales management), 10 years in commercial and government payer coverage and payment. Two years managing products covered under the medical benefit is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully launching new products in hospital and physician office accounts.
  • Ability to maintain priority accounts while developing direct reports.
  • Preferred experience specifically in radiopharmaceuticals, imaging, or diagnostics.

CAPABILIITIES AND COMPETENCIES

  • Outpatient hospital reimbursement experience is required.
  • Demonstrate a substantial understanding of the US payer market in both the private and public payer space.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Understand the decision-making process for new treatments and imaging agents within the payer and provider community.
  • Ability to lead in a cross-functional working environment.
  • Successful decision-making, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to define and articulate product value propositions.
  • Superior interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and organize work without continuous direct supervision.
  • New hires based in the US will be required to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption or accommodation to this vaccination requirement, subject to applicable law.
  • Field-based, ability to travel 60%.
