Compensation:

  • In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

 

Role Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to direct and manage the development, implementation, and promotion of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) programming at Wayfinder Family Services. The director is responsible for operations including compliance, growth and development, and budget and workforce development. Programs include group homes, personalized supports, supported employment, and person-centered planning for individuals with intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. In addition, this position includes involvement in agency-wide initiatives.

  • Evaluates and reports on the results of overall IDD fiscal and service operations to ensure financial viability and contract fulfillment.
  • Establishes and updates IDD program policies and procedures as well as maintain compliance with Department of Social Services Title 22 and Title 17 Regulations and abide by all contractual agreements with Regional Centers, Department of Community Care Licensing, Department of Children and Family Services and other regulating agencies as needed to operate programs efficiently and effectively.
  • Builds person-centered, outcome-driven frameworks for IDD services to increase the independence level of individuals with disabilities.
  • Oversees systems of accountability that track quality of service, program budget, relevant documentation, and adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Effectively supervises, evaluates and directs the work of a diverse group of employees.  Timely completion of performance appraisals, regular supervisory meetings, performance documentation, staff development and supervision for success best practices.  Manage personnel functions including recruiting, hiring, and retaining staff.
  • Monitors common government funding sources and assist in applying for relevant grant opportunities.
  • Responsible for oversight, reporting, and approving/processing of accident, incident and seizure reports.  Ensures that all Corrective Action Plans are completed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelors in a related field from an accredited college or university.  Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Must possess and maintain current Group Home Administrator certification.
  • Current Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) trainer certification, preferred.
  • Direct Support Professional Year 1 & Year 2 certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years hands on experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities
  • Four (4) year’s related leadership responsibility with at least three (3) years managing a department and supervising staff
  • Knowledge of state, federal, managed care, and commercial insurance funding for individuals with Developmental Disabilities
