ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Director of Innovative Home Service (IHS) oversees the private duty services agency in the community. The Director of IHS initiates, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for quality services which meet and promote the standards of excellence and quality, and contributes to the total organization.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:
- Provides leadership in the development of objectives, standards of care, and policies and procedures affecting the agency.
- Coordinates and oversees client services provided by agency personnel.
- Determines private duty needs and assigns appropriate personnel.
- Evaluates each case by reviewing services requested and provided through conferences, record reviews, and discussions.
- Directs implementation of improved work methods and procedures to ensure provision of high-quality services.
- Instructs and guides personnel in promoting effective performance outcomes and service excellence.
- Is always available during operating hours either in person or through technology (phone, video call)
- Facilitate care conference meetings when needed with agency and community personnel, clients, family members and/or health care practitioners.
- Establishes and maintains an ongoing marketing plan to increase awareness of services provided and improve utilization, increase revenues, and maintain quality service.
- Fosters an ongoing public relations program in alignment with the community to improve relations with physicians, other potential referral sources and other care providers.
- Maintains adequate and appropriate inventory supplies and equipment for the provision of client services.
- Evaluates performance of staff. Conducts annual evaluations of direct reports, or more frequently if indicated.
- Recruits, hires, evaluates, and terminates agency personnel.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates the orientation program for new agency personnel. Orients or delegates orientation of new agency personnel.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates training program, competencies, and skills development.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of agency personnel as applicable and all other federal and state regulations.
- Stays informed about changes in the field of private duty, non-medical care and shares information with appropriate agency personnel.
- Acts as the safety liaison for the Emergency Management Plan.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing with current LPN or RN license in applicable state preferred.
- Has three years of management experience in a private duty or related organization.
- Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
- Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and agency requirements and is in good working order.
- Is self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Has excellent observation and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
