Job description

OrthoTennessee is seeking candidates for a Director of Imaging to join our team in West Knoxville. The Director of Imaging will provide leadership for the imaging service line to ensure patient safety, image quality, efficient processes, and strong resource stewardship. In light of healthcare reform and reduced and/or restructured reimbursement, director will need to be innovative, have sound operational skills, and change management experience.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
  • Builds and maintains positive and effective relationships with all constituencies of Imaging department. Maintains an open, supportive culture and inter-personal collaboration
  • Communicate, model, recruit, and coach by OTN behavior fundamentals
  • Collaborates with the various specialty services lines for patient and referring provider experience optimization
  • Works with department leadership to ensure consistent, effective management of patients
  • Establishes staffing and scheduling models, as well as department performance metrics
  • Responsible for operational readiness, appearance, and presentation of Imaging locations
  • Manages the design, implementation, standardization, and support of processes, with a strong focus on: Patient and Employee Safety, Patient Experience, Image Quality, Resource Stewardship, efficiency, and order completion lag
  • Assesses, designs, and optimizes the department's management structure and effectiveness
  • Works with HR to make sure OTN policies and procedures are followed
  • Establishes cadence and structure for check-ins with department members and department leaders
  • Oversees and supports imaging purchases and growth decisions: including new builds, replacements, additions, and service support agreements
  • Support, suggest, implement and engage in staff recruitment and staff enrichment
  • Oversees the of Imaging equipment (MRI, X-ray, Dexa, Pedcat, and ultrasound) including but not limited to: preventative maintenance, repairs, registries, etc.
  • Works with IT staff to maintain and update PACS servers, connections, and SWAT system configurations
  • Serves at service area representative for assigned committees
Qualifications:
  • Certification by one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or American Registry or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • Knowledge of State and regulatory compliance for Radiology
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 or more years of leadership experience in like setting
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proven operational and business acumen
  • Comfortable with data capture, analysis, and interpretation
  • Strong communication skills with hands on approach
  • Strong team player that understands a patient's happiness is only going to be as good as the team member's happiness level
  • Someone who is fiscally responsible and innovative
  • Must have a strong commitment to service, quality, and a genuine interest and ability to respond to the needs of all constituents
