We're looking for an HR/Finance all-star to join our Admin team! Ideally, candidates who have worked in a digital marketing agency, healthcare, or startup are preferred.


On your resume or cover letter, we want to see examples of the following:

  • Highlight your HR/Finance experience working in a startup, digital marketing agency, or healthcare environment.
  • Experience related explicitly to talent acquisition: we would like to see HRIS platforms used, how they were utilized, sources used to acquire talent, and any multi-state hiring experience that is relevant to the role.
  • Experience managing employee benefits/open enrollment/COBRA, and multi-state compliance/registration requirements.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment – list experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

The Role: Director of Human Resources & Finance


This position blends HR, admin, and accounting tasks with an emphasis on talent acquisition. In growth phases, the role leans more into HR duties like recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, and benefits. It involves supporting the CFO with invoice tracking, contractor payments, and financial reporting. The role requires a solid grasp of our products, awareness of various responsibilities across all departments, and upholding our values. Providing top-notch service to our team, candidates, and clients with a friendly and professional vibe while ensuring strict confidentiality is vital to this role.


Responsibilities

  • Drive the recruitment process for all open positions using the BambooHR ATS system, including posting jobs, pre-screening applicants, scheduling and managing the interview process, candidate follow-up, new-hire onboarding/offboarding, etc.
  • Keep job postings current and collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Use various sources, including social media and professional networking sites, to post openings and source candidates.
  • Conduct employment testing, verification, background, and reference checks.
  • Manage state-specific documentation based on employee location and ensure the company is appropriately registered with relevant state departments as needed.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Update and maintain the Employee Handbook.
  • Oversee COBRA benefits administration and reconcile reports with outsourced partner.
  • Administer day-to-day processing of benefit programs, including orientation for new hires, changes, terminations, insurance claims, and disability, and coordinate open enrollment while maintaining up-to-date tracking and records.
  • Maintain thorough tracking of customer invoices and payments with outsourced partner and provide service additions, changes, and cancellations as needed.
  • Monitor customer project work and bill as designated by the SOW.
  • Oversee contractor/vendor documentation and payment approval process.
  • Categorize credit card expenses monthly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years' experience as HR Generalist or Assistant preferred.
  • Significant recruiting and benefit administration experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM certification is highly desirable.
  • Marketing agency, startup, or healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office products is required.
  • Basic QuickBooks Online experience is required.
  • Experience hiring in a remote environment across multiple states is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • This position requires strong attention to detail, precision, thoroughness, and the ability to uphold and monitor work quality.
  • Possess leadership qualities and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Experience using BambooHR is a plus.
  • General project management knowledge or experience is a plus.
