We are seeking a Director of Global Saleswho displays strong characteristics of AIP Publishing's cultural principles: Progressive; Researcher-Focused; Experimental; Equitable; Authentic; Action-Oriented; and Collaborative toplay a pivotal role in the overall accountability for the development and execution of AIP Publishing's Global Sales strategy for our academic, government and corporate library markets.

The Director of Global Sales, reporting to the Head of Global Sales and Advertising, willmanage a team and will drive direct sales activities in these markets to increase revenue. This includes growth from existing markets and new markets as well as developing effective channel strategies for each market, customer segment and product type.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Global Sales team by hiring, training, coaching and developing team members.
  • Develop and implement robust sales processes for customer relationship management, sales pipeline management, and revenue forecasting.
  • Work in concert with the Head of Global Sales and Advertising to set annual sales targets; track progress and adjust as necessary.
  • Develop and execute a Global Sales strategy that delivers continued sales growth.
  • Produce timely and accurate sales reports, including updated sales pipelines and monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
  • Work alongside Finance to provide accurate sales reporting and provide the status of payment on major accounts as needed.
  • Represent the company at key events and conferences.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue in emerging markets and successfully grow AIPP's business.
  • Participate in the new product development process to ensure that the voice-of-the customer is present.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the company's product portfolio and recommend product positioning and pricing strategy to drive revenue.
  • Understand the competitive marketplace and identify opportunities that differentiate AIP Publishing offerings from its competitors'
  • Review and manage departmental expenditures to ensure consistency with the companies' budgetary guidelines and provide regular feedback to upper management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field required.
  • Five year's relevant experience in a sales / marketing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Familiarity with the scholarly publishing environment is required.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and leveraging metrics to increase sales performance.
  • Ability to lead a team and keep them accountable for their deliverables.
  • Proficient in strategic planning, goal setting, and execution.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Senior Management and internal/external stakeholders and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communicator, whether presenting or written.
  • Can analyze data from different sources, present it clearly, and make logical conclusions.
  • Must possess excellent negotiation, influence, conflict management, and customer service skills.
  • Available for North America and Europe Travel.

$145,000 - $177,000

Salary within the above posted range is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience.

To be considered candidates must reside within NY, NJ, CT, MD, VA, PA, MA, RI or Washington, DC. This is a remote first plus convening opportunity.
