UCI Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning | OVPTL
- 7-10 years direct experience in finance accounting and people management at a higher education institution, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Comprehensive knowledge OF FINANCE and budget policies, practices and systems; budgeting and reporting techniques; fund accounting; human resource planning; accounting and bookkeeping.
- Thorough knowledge of grant accounting, sales and service accounting, and foundation fund management.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels; ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Client services oriented; good listening, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Detail oriented with the ability to apply critical thinking skills to analyze problems and apply effective solutions.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion and demonstrate independence in identifying complex problems and proposing innovative solutions.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent multitasking and follow-through skills; able to work under pressure managing multiple projects with attention to details.
- Knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
- Excellent management and leadership skills to motivate, inspire, develop, and support staff.
- Exemplifying excellence through diversity by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that maximizes the success and inclusion of our UCI community.
- Multicultural competencies; ability to work and interact with diverse populations.
- Professional certification preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of UC financial systems and policies.
