Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The purpose of the Director of Finance and Budgeting position is to implement process improvements, ensure operational efficiency and ensure the effectiveness of internal financial controls of Ben E. Keith Foods. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Member of the manufacturing management team. This position will participate with the team in strategic decision making surrounding financial activities for all manufacturing locations.
• Ability in seeing the “Big Picture” with the capacity and willingness to promote and advocate for positive change, while also focusing on the financial details
• Prepare analytical review of manufacturing division operating and financial data - including monthly Operating Budgets and forecast; Detailed Gross Profit Reporting; and Operating Statement variance reporting - with Vice President of Manufacturing and Plant Manager(s), with objective of identifying opportunities to add value, grow sales and improve profitability.
• Ensure accurate reporting between manufacturing ERP system(s) and corporate financial reporting software
• Establish annual budget and monthly re-forecasting for all manufacturing locations
• Accounting and control for all fixed assets including coordination with corporate accounting on proper capitalization and depreciation; GL account reconciliations.
• Work with appropriate management team in providing accurate information in costing and pricing of product
• Detailed oriented; self-starter; highly organized with an ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines
• Act as liaison with Corporate on matters requiring the input, involvement, or cooperation of the Division Controllers
• Participate in Special Projects and provide administrative and technical support to the Vice President of Manufacturing and Plant Managers
• Supervise and support accounting support personnel at each manufacturing location
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA preferred
• 7+ years Accounting/Finance experience required in cost accounting and/or a manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of management experience in management or as a Controller preferred
• Strong understanding of cost of goods sold including costing of product
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office; advanced excel skills and other Financial applications
• Knowledge of accounting, business processes, controls and regulations in the Food Service industry preferred
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication and presentation skills
• Strong Analytical Skills – Ability to interpret problematic strategic data and organizational issues
• Ability to work in a collaborative and fast paced environment, often serving as a key contributor to cross functional projects within General Office
• Ability to Lead, Manage, and Develop Others
• Self-Directed/Self-Motivated, Strong Problem-Solving Skills
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
