Form of work The City of Coffeyville, Kansas, has an opening for Director of Finance. Key responsibilities in this position include: overseeing development of the annual City budget; investing cash balances and managing cash flow; administering debt management policies, issuance of debt and payment schedules; overseeing all financial and accounting reports; preparing and compiling information for annual City audit; leading and directing issuance of Industrial Revenue Bonds; developing and monitoring short and long range goals, objectives and action plans; developing Staff Reports and making presentations to the City Commission and other City boards; overseeing the property, liability and health insurance programs.
Successful candidates will have knowledge of government financial reporting, investments and budget preparation; State and local laws and regulations governing municipalities; will be skilled in solving problems and making decisions independently; will be skilled in negotiation and labor relations; will be able to plan, assign and delegate the work of others; skilled in business communication both orally and in writing.
Preferred qualifications include Master of Business Administration or Master of Public Administration. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Public or Business Administration or related field is required. Eight to ten years progressive experience in government finance or account including five years progressive supervisory experience are required. Valid Kansas Driver's License or ability to obtain a Kansas Driver's License is also required.
Salary range from $80,000-$102,000 annually; dependent upon qualifications, and includes benefit package and KPERS retirement.
