Director Of Engineering

Job Summary:
The Director Of Engineering is responsible for leading all contract operations and developing and selling additional products and services to current and new customers in the Engineering business sector. This individual must have a clear track record of success in directly relevant jobs and strong technical expertise in any relevant engineering field. The Incumbent must lead and mentor those under their supervision, install quality processes, ensure continuous improvement, and develop and maintain company intellectual property. Incumbent must also develop an effective strategic plan and business model and a highly successful marketing and business development operation, meeting regularly with potential partners and customers, and finding and closing on opportunities. Incumbent will serve as part of the corporate team responsible for strategic direction of ZelTech.
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for direction, leadership and management, and profit and loss of company assigned operations.
• Oversee all aspects of assigned company operations.
• Provide oversight in the execution of contract requirements to assure that cost, schedules and performance goals are met.
• Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives and procedures for contract execution.
• Ensure they are consistent with and supportive of company directives.
• Develop and execute budgets.
• Ensure effective and efficient use of personnel, facilities, equipment and materials.
• Drive and oversee continuous improvement in compliance with company Quality goals and processes.
• Orchestrate company business development and marketing activities to meet corporate growth goals and expand customer base in the S&T sector.
• Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations.
• While representing the Company’s interests, ensure that all government regulatory guidance is adhered to.
• Develop and implement plans and schedules to execute contracts/subcontracts.
• Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel and purchased services.
• Responsible for program and financial reporting activities, reviews and presentations.
• Hire the best talent available, provide full opportunities for professional growth and contributions from each employee, and grow future leaders.
• Serve as a member of the senior company management and policy team.
• Participate in strategic planning, maintain an understanding of counterpart activities, review results, share ideas, and actively seek opportunities to collaborate and assist.
• Represent ZelTech to customers, partners, and other external entities as appropriate.

Requirements:

• Must be a US citizen.
• BS degree and ten (10) or more years’ relevant experience.
• In lieu of BS degree, a BA degree and twelve (12) or more years of relevant experience OR sixteen (16) of relevant experience with no degree.
• Understanding of Engineering support to military operations, the Intelligence Community (IC), national laboratories, and other markets to include commercial.
• Experience managing a highly skilled technical staff.
• Experience managing government contracts.
• Extensive knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and management and coordination of operations.
• Solid understanding of Government and commercial contracting and accounting principles and practices.

Preferred Requirements:

• Master’s degree or higher.
