SUMMARY
*This position is remote with 80% travel to the Distribution Centers around the US*
Establishes vision and communicates ambitions for streamlined and high-performing Distribution Centers (DCs). Develops and implements strategic initiatives to optimize and transform the DC operations and network footprint. Shapes strategic roadmap for technology and automation deployment across DCs. Standardizes operational best practices across sites and manages the governance of the Continuous Improvement (CI) program. Translates developed strategies into action, monitors performance, and reports on effectiveness of execution to drive transformation agenda. Coordinates across commercial, operations, and IT stakeholders to drive excellence in DCs. Provides business and strategic support for the Commercial and Products & Merchandising business teams.
Core Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development
    • Lead the strategic planning process for DC operations, inclusive of overall performance improvements as well as tackling specific challenges
    • Develop and drive strategic program focused on productivity improvements across DCs
    • Identify and evaluate automation and technology solutions to streamline operations
  • Operational Excellence
    • Regularly evaluate and communicate opportunities to drive productivity improvements
    • Triage and tackle specific performance challenges across DC network (e.g., turnover)
    • Support DC Operations Lean in the development, implementation, and management of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practice playbook
    • Communicate and monitor implementation of efficiency / productivity initiatives
  • Technology and Innovation
    • Define technology / automation strategy and roadmap for DC Operations
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, supply chain, and sales, to define and prioritize automation and technology initiatives
    • Regularly evaluate opportunities to deploy technology, including automation, to drive productivity improvements across Distribution Centers
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in medical distribution and healthcare logistics, evaluating their potential impact and recommending strategic actions to stay ahead of the industry
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Provide leadership and guidance to Distribution Center managers and teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and customer-centric operations
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to align Distribution Center operations strategy with the company's mission, vision, and long-term growth objectives
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the seamless integration of automation and technology solutions to enhance customer experience and improve productivity
Qualifying Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable
  • Experience managing the P&L for distribution network with tight margins. Operational transformation experience is highly desirable
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to develop and execute long-term vision and operational plans specifically tailored to medical distribution requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions in the context of medical distribution
  • Excellent financial acumen
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse processes, industry best practices, and emerging trends in logistics and distribution
  • Knowledge of automation and technology solutions relevant to medical distribution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and drive results
