If the IUF sounds like a fit for you, we invite you to join us today.

Job Description

The salary range for this role is $80,000-$90,000 and relocation is available if required.

This position is located on the IU Kokomo Campus in Kokomo, Indiana. It is a Hybrid role (3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote) with primarily regional travel required.

The IU Kokomo (IUK) campus is a growing and thriving education hub in the heart of Indiana (approximately an hour north of Indianapolis.) IUK is building excellent educational opportunities for its students, with programs like The Kokomo Experience and You (KEY) providing ‘unique, hands-on opportunities to explore the fields they want to enter after graduation’ and the KEY Center for Innovation, where local businesses, nonprofits and government agencies connect with the IU Kokomo campus.’ With travel abroad programs expanding, new athletic teams coming on board, and growing partnerships with businesses across central Indiana: there’s a lot of excitement surrounding fundraising efforts at IUK!

The IU Foundation is seeking a new Director of Development to capture the energy and progress on campus and deliver that message to donors and friends of the University. This role reports to the AVP of Development, Regional Campuses-IU Foundation, with a dotted line to the Vice Chancellor of Advancement and Media & Marketing-IU Kokomo. Additionally, this role supervises the Assistant Director of Development at IUK. In this role, you will serve as an expert and lead development professional on campus. We’re seeking a true, intentional collaborator: someone who is excited to get to know the students, faculty, administration, and community, and be an engaged contributor who brings people together to foster student success at IUK. In partnership with the Vice Chancellor, the Director of Development will lead a team to secure philanthropic support and strategic direction for a comprehensive and coordinated development program that includes all aspects of fundraising, including annual fund, corporate and foundation relations, planned giving, and major and principal gifts with emphasis on major gift fundraising.
As Director of Development, you will create and lead the strategic direction for a comprehensive and coordinated development program. A large majority of your work will focus on cultivating relationships with major gift donors, utilizing the campus’ internal resources and IU Foundation services to ensure a comprehensive and donor-centered advancement program that leads to at least 14 major gift proposals of $50k+ each year. By building long-term relationships with donors, business leaders, and other friends of the University, you’ll ‘Bring on Tomorrow,’ creating new opportunities for IUK students for many years to come!
