The Director of Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations is responsible for growing support from corporations, foundations and government sources by developing and leading a comprehensive plan to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate, foundation, and government sources. This position will play a lead role in maintaining and expanding Government Relations, maintaining existing government funding while seeking additional funding sources.
This is a Full Time Position with a hybrid capability. Salary range $81,000 – $110,000.
As the Director of Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations you:
  • Work in collaboration with the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to develop and lead a comprehensive strategy to increase corporate, foundation, and government giving, both retaining existing funding and increasing dollars raised.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate, foundation and government donors/ prospects for philanthropic support of The Children’s Institute, and manage a personal portfolio of current and prospective foundation, corporate and government funders with metric driven goals for visits, proposals, and dollars raised.
  • Manage institutional efforts to not only maintain but also grow government funding support and serve as primary liaison with lobbyists.
  • Serve as the manager and leader for the corporate, foundation, and Government Relations team, while also providing strategic support to the CAO.
  • Lead the research and development of all grant proposals and reports to corporations, foundations, and government sources, working in close collaboration with the Grant Writer & Project Manager
EDUCATION: BA degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Three to five years minimum successful track record in development, with a focus on corporate, foundation or Government Relations required. Understanding of development, with a demonstrated record of successful fundraising. At least two years’ experience managing professional staff.
ABILITIES NEEDED: Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Professional demeanor and positive outlook. Creative, able to generate ideas and solve problems. Self-starter. Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate independently while functioning as part of a cooperative and coordinated team. Must be responsible, dependable, well-organized, logical and display high integrity. Ability to work well with people at all levels of an organization. Ability to develop relationships with diverse constituencies and employ keen judgment and discretion. Must be committed to the mission and strategic direction of The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability and means to travel to external appointments on a flexible schedule as needed. Some evenings, weekends, and periodic travel required
