ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of CORE Strategic Initiatives plays a pivotal role in supporting the SVP, Strategy & Operations by managing day-to-day operations, coordinating communication, and executing Strategic Initiatives. Responsibilities include liaising between departments, facilitating decision-making processes, and ensuring efficient workflow. Exceptional organizational and leadership skills are crucial to succeed in this role, along with the ability to handle confidential information and contribute to high-level decision-making.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide strategic guidance and support to the SVP and President (as required) ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Act as a central point of contact for internal and external communication, filtering and prioritizing information.
- Oversee key projects and initiatives, ensuring they align with the organization's strategic objectives and deadlines are met.
- Assist in decision-making processes by gathering relevant data, providing analysis, and offering insights to support informed choices.
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations, streamline processes, and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with various departments, fostering cross-functional communication and ensuring the successful execution of organizational initiatives.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality on matters related to executive decisions and company strategies.
- Represent the SVP in meetings, ensuring their views and directives are accurately conveyed, and follow up on action items.
- Address challenges and problem-solve proactively, taking initiative to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
- Assist in managing unexpected situations, providing support and facilitating swift decision-making.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to facilitate collaboration and support organizational objectives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and relevant information to continually enhance the executive's effectiveness and the organization's success.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5+ years of leadership and strategic leadership experience
- Minimum of 5+ years Project Manager/Business Analysis experience managing issues, scope and quality while bring projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years knowledge and understanding of operations within the banking/financial industry
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and with a sense of urgency
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience managing cross functional teams within a formalized methodology
