As the Director of Corporate Compliance & Associate Counsel, you will lead all corporate compliance functions for The Arc and its subsidiaries, providing a wide range of legal advice and counsel in partnership with the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Administration & General Counsel. The Director will assess and mitigate organizational risk, ensuring compliance with laws, regulatory guidance, licensing and contract requirements, as well as policies and procedures. The Director will act as the Safety Officer and facilitate The Arc’s Health & Safety Committee and serve as a member of the Leadership Council.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a proven ability to build relationships affecting organizational change, will have exceptional critical and strategic thinking skills, and be adept at looking at challenges and executing multi-pronged solutions in collaboration with others in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, entrepreneurial environment.
This position requires a JD with a license to practice law in Maryland and 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney or in-house counsel, and 3 years of progressive leadership managing large-scale compliance programs. Experience in a nonprofit setting with contract and housing compliance is preferred.
