This is a W-2 full-time contract position with the potential to go full-time based out of Boulder, Colorado, or Austin, Texas with Hybrid/remote work options. As aDirector of Compensation andBenefits, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our client's total rewards strategy and ensuring that our Compensation and Benefits programs align with their organizational goals and values. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you will lead a team of Compensation and Benefits professionals and work closely with senior leadership to drive our compensation philosophy, policies, and practices.
Director of Compensation and Benefits Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and administration of our Compensation and Benefits programs, including base salary, variable pay, equity-based programs, and health and wellness benefits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and recommend Compensation and Benefits strategies that support our talent acquisition, retention, and engagement efforts.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure our compensation packages remain competitive in the industry.
- Partner with HR and finance teams to manage the budget and financial aspects of Compensation and Benefits programs.
- Provide guidance and expertise on compensation-related matters, including executive compensation, pay equity, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Oversee the administration of our benefits programs, including health, dental, retirement, and wellness initiatives.
- Lead the annual benefits renewal process and negotiations with external vendors.
- Develop and communicate Compensation and Benefits policies and guidelines to employees and managers.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Compensation and Benefits professionals.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in Compensation and Benefits.
Director of Compensation and Benefits Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Compensation and Benefits management, with a track record of leadership in compensation strategy development.
- Strong knowledge of Compensation practices, executive compensation, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Experience working with HRIS and compensation software (e.g., Workday, SAP, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
