Minimum Qualifications
- Registered nurse required.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (Nursing Education preferred) or related health care field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of six (6) years’ clinical nursing practice and/or nursing education experience.
- Must be able to problem solve, collaborate with faculty and clinical agencies, and have the ability to relate well with others.
- Must be able to develop working rapport with faculty/staff in the School of Nursing (SON) and with the external healthcare community.
- Essential skills include: excellent organizational and analytical skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively with others; and the ability to manage a small team of staff.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous administrative experience working in a school of nursing preferred.
- Previous management/leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with the nursing student clinical education placement process preferred.
- Experience with hiring and managing a team preferred.

Position Details
Position Purpose
The Director ofClinical Operations and Experiential Learning is responsible for ensuring appropriate and sufficient clinical placements and Experiential Learning opportunities for all OU undergraduate and graduate nursing students. The Director ofClinical Operations and Experiential Learning has the following primary responsibilities:
- Oversees the operations of all SON clinical support services;
- Obtains, maintains, visits, and evaluates clinical sites;
- Serves as the liaison between the SON and all clinical sites.
- Hires, orients/onboards, supervises, and evaluates part-time clinical faculty;
- Collaborates with the program directors and course faculty to ensure that all clinical placements support the core educational competencies, professional practice standards, and curriculum requirements of the various graduate and undergraduate academic programs at the SON.
- Oversees Experiential Learning in the SON to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
