The Director of Admissions & Counseling reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent and is responsible for directing the development, implementation and assessment of the schools guidance program and admissions policy and procedures, as well as overseeing the School Nursing Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive guidance program to meet the academic, technical and social-emotional needs of every student.Oversee and exercise general responsibility over the annual implementation of the schools Admission Policy and the admission of students in alignment with all applicable regulationsResponsible for the recruitment process for all incoming students.Oversee and exercise general responsibility and supervision of the school testing program in the areas of pre-admission and achievement/aptitude testing programs, PSATs, SATs and Accuplacer (excluding State mandated basic skills tests).Assure that all mandated guidance reports are prepared and submitted on a timely basis.Oversee all student scheduling changes within the guidance office.Develops and supervises systems for registering and programming students.Responsible for maintaining permanent academic records for every student.Oversee and coordinate the MyCAP (Career Portfolio Process)Assist in developing and overseeing a schoolwide tiered intervention system.Facilitates data analysis within the department to make programmatic decisions to increase student performance as indicated in the school improvement plan.Develop long and short-term objectives within the guidance program to assure equitable access and continued services to all students.In collaboration with the Special Education Department, ensures that guidance service programs provide students with disabilities equal opportunities according to their abilities and in line with federal regulations and policies.Provides opportunities to include all staff, students, and parents in the full range of school guidance and admissions service programs and activities.Assist with the preparation and monitoring of grants relating to counseling and guidance.Oversee the preparation and management of the schools Guidance, Nursing and Admissions budgets.Perform formal educational evaluations on assigned faculty and staff members in alignment with school policy, school regulations and contractual agreements.Oversee the out-of-school tutoring program.Perform other related duties as required.Oversee the preparation and management of the schools Guidance, Nursing and Admissions budgets.Perform formal educational evaluations on assigned faculty and staff members in alignment with school policy, school regulations and contractual agreements.Oversee the out-of-school tutoring program.Perform other related duties as required.
