Director Licensing, Commercial Supply and Client Services GSD

Remote (Location), Business Development, Licensing, Commercial Supply and Client Services.

How will you make an impact?

A business development professional in our Licensing and Commercial Supply (LCS) Team for the Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) will be responsible for the development of sustainable sales funnels and revenue delivery in our OEM and out-licensing business area. Execution of the global go to market plans in you assigned territory, developing strong industry-wide relationships and partnership, while work cross-functionally with the sales organizations, business units and contracting teams to deliver revenue objectives within the Genetic Sciences Division.

The successful candidate will need to have experience delivering results in broad business development function in the life sciences industry, global experience with an understanding of market drivers by region, and a keen focus on funnel development in the OEM and licensing area. This person will have executive level communication skills and be able to build new long-term OEM partnerships that will have measurable success and growth for the division. They will develop and drive the OEM strategy and collaborate with peers and the global commercial organization. Vital to success in the role is the ability analyze sophisticated issues, develop fact-based recommendations, and lead efforts to adapt existing processes to meet market and customer requirements.

What will you do?

  • Develop strategies and lead both direct and in-direct sales development teams to meet revenue targets for out-licensing and OEM commercial supply.
  • Manage the Client Services team and collaborate with division business partners; product management, legal, product management, R&D, manufacturing, finance, and accounting to ensure the highest level of customer experience.
  • Ensure clear focus on delivering revenue targets, funnel management and expansion of the deal pipeline, leading to predictable and sustainable business outcomes.
  • Take a leadership role in developing and nurturing key business relationships with executives across all markets where GSD products and technologies can be incorporated.

How will you get here?

Education

  • B.S. in life science or business; MBA or M.S./Ph.D. is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant licensing and/or business development experience, including identification & validation of strategic business opportunities in the life sciences industry, as well as a proven record of accomplishment of success in business development transactions.
  • General experience with molecular biology applications, biotechnology / scientific instrumentation, manufacturing, and design criteria.
  • Prior experience in life sciences market development and commercial sales global sales/business leadership preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to support teams in deal design and development beyond the product specifications
  • Customer first business philosophy is a must.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Direct management of a sales team is required experience
  • Ability to lead Client Services Project Management team
  • Proven business development technical skills (term sheet creation, IP review, profit and loss modeling, quality agreements, supply agreements)
  • Experience in navigating exciting sales and contract negotiations, alliance management and/or cross-functional team leadership experience.
  • Prior experience in molecular biology or OEM supply market strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, business, technical and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; experience developing financial models and drafting term sheets and contract provisions.
  • Record of accomplishment of successfully working with a variety of parties (internal and external) to resolve complex issues and build outstanding solutions.
  • Can proficiently communicate across diverse international cultures.
  • Sales operations, product or project management background is a plus.
  • Travel up to 50%
