Description and Requirements

As the Director of Lenovo’s North America Consumer Business Management organization, you will lead a dynamic, experienced, and diverse team towards our business goals and objectives including increased market share (premium to market), revenue and profit. It will be critical for this leader to identify and further develop the right strategy for growth and leverage the full consumer portfolio to help expand Lenovo’s presence through our retail and ecommerce routes to market.

The candidate will need experience within multiple routes/lines of business to help set the right strategy, make excellent business judgment, and influence product decisions. They will need strong communication and presentation skills, which will enable them to become a trusted advisor in the organization and present to (internal and external) executives on a regular basis.


Key responsibilities: 

  • Define key business strategy and objectives to drive results (set quarterly/annually) including units/market share, revenue, and profit.
  • Plan and execute quarterly campaigns (tied to those quarterly/annual objectives) across all product categories including notebook, desktop, tablets, visuals, accessories, services.
  • Outline, adjust and communicate ongoing priorities and actions needed to deliver business results.
  • Collaborate with leaders in Sales, Product Mgmt., WW Consumer Business Units (BUs), Marketing, Finance, Supply/demand planning, etc. to ensure alignment on strategy and priorities, and to identify any help needed within those extended organizations.
  • Ensure actions are taken regularly based upon review of market intelligence reports, sell in and sales out data, etc.
  • Drive new initiatives which maximize share, mix, margin and overall product contribution.
  • Manage end-to-end tactical gross to net budget (GTN), including tactical pricing dollars, needed to drive execution of campaigns.
  • Evaluate performance against plan at appropriate intervals (e.g., weekly, monthly) and make corrective actions to keep on track to achieve goals. Present details to management teams on a regular basis.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Align close with Product organization to help ensure smooth Product Transitions.
  • Determine customer needs through participation in Sales & Customer meetings. Recommend and position appropriate product to customers.
  • Manage all E&O issues with demand planning; ensure actions are taken/budgeted to address future liability.
  • Motivate team (direct and indirect teams) through ongoing recognition.
  • Develop people within team, aligned with their individual development goals.

Basic Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience in retail business (including P/L ownership).

Preferred Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the PC industry - products and technology, product life cycle management & retail/ecommerce business models.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a strong ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving goals.
  • Very strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skill & keen attention to details.
  • Ability to manage through influence, negotiation
  • Strong verbal (presentation) and written communication skills
